Just saw it on the TV.

Well, do you think it will have any impact? A Greek Ferry has been requisioned (perhaps not the right word) to evacuate 20 000 French residents, tourists and other europeans to Cyprus. The French naval vessel Sirocco is en route carrying 4 PUMA helicopters to facilitate the evacuation.

I believe two British navy vessels are on the way aswell.

That's a very big ferry.

The Ferry can take 900 people, for the people who want to be evacuated. There is not order of evacuation yet.

duh... course... Was just trying to imply that there is ~20k people to evacuate. And so far there's not enough room as you can guess.

Cyrpus is a hop skip and a jump away. Multiple trips will obviously be made, although I figure the French are getting more than that. Canada is sending 6 ferries to get the 21 000 odd nationals who have requested assistance out, and I figure France would be more on the ball than Canada.

Let's hope he's kidnapped. Might give the French an idea of what Israel is feeling.

I got no time for Israeli policies, but it's a really nasty form of mental torture that they are being put through.

I don't condone Israel's current actions... but kidnapping is a horrible crime. Shame they started it by putting hundreds of Pal women and children in jail.

Ah well, it's gonna end one day... probably with a mushroom cloud or 200.

I think the man is mad! Let's fly to a city under seige! That would be like Winston Churchill making a surprise visist to Tobruk!

Ah well, maybe the French ain't so cowardly as previously suspected by 90% of America.

This doesn't show lack of cowardice, just lack of thinking something through.
I suppose you are speaking of lack of thinking from the 90% of Americans?

Eh Steph always have something to reply to witty comments. ;)

There are talks, read rumor, that the French govt would be ready to send troops in the southern Frontier as a "zone tampon" between Israelis and Lebanese.

As a matter of fact, there has been French Soldiers stationed in Lebanon since the end of the last war tasked by the UN, name of the mission escape me at the moment. But i do know the mission itself was supposed to end this 31 of July (or is it August? Not quite sure, but yes its this year).
