I have made peace with the Japanese with whom I had had a long war, and I started a war with the Germans. The war weariness was not so high during the German war. So I think the Japanese war weariness didn't affect me during that war.

Hey Lt. I'm right in the middle of game, Nanking just finished my MA. the tanks (lots!) have been lined up for army status a couple of turns now, and transports are ready to ship the whole lot overseas to India dump a nice vegetable curry on Gandi's head. But wait - what's this? How does one actually USE the MA to create an army? When a unit is active in the city, there's not a single button option, like JOIN ARMY or anything, no right click option menu choice, and I can't find the answer anywhere in the ref. section or faq!

Before you can LOAD your units into your Army, you will have to BUILD it. (The empty army shell, essentially)

That's done from the city production menu - it should be one of the units you can build.

Once the army 'shell' is built, then you can load any units in the same tile as the army into it; note that the unit loading does NOT need to occur in the same city as the army itself was built.

Hope that helps.

I didn't check the production que! Arrrrrrrrgg!! Thanks for the quick reply Madscot, although it wasn't in time to help tonight's game! Man, that info is no where to be found in ref. or the info center!

Thanks :goodjob:

The Military Academy lets you build an army without a leader. But the city owning this Small Wonder has to BUILD the army. It takes x number of shields to construct. It's this thing your Civ actually creates out of its resources, but what is its status? Is it a unit? It certainly isn't listed in any unit ref. I've seen. Is it a city improvement? Again, no listing. Where does one find reference material to this army "shell," as Madscot calls it? It seems it should be listed among the other units, special as it may be, so one can find out something important like, say, how many shields does it cost?

Something tells me the truth is: only in FAQ. :crazyeye:

It's a unit comparable to a scout or explorer. Empty armies get killed very easily... Note that the 'army unit' takes the characteristics of the unit in it. You could check if you have to pay upkeep costs for it (I wouldn't be amazed...) or if you still have to pay upkeep costs for the units in the army.

????

The army is in civilopaedia->units->army. 400 shields, 0/0/1.

Man, what the hell have I been :smoke: ? It's like the Civ equivilant of losing your glasses when they're on top of your head. Good thing there's Newbie Q and FAQ threads, where I can hide from the ridicule of my peers.

Thanks sumthinelse.

Happens to the best of us. :) Sometimes I catch myself saying something I wish I hadn't, then I click the EDIT button to fix it.

How do I move cruise missles between continents? I've tried airports, transports, bombers, they won't board anything.

I believe the only way to move CMs overseas without modding the game is to move them onto a transport which is NOT in a port - you can't LOAD them onto a transport, but they are able to walk onto it, like any other land unit.
Which is truly bizarre, since you'd think they were something you had to load properly, but over-the-beach is the only way to go, AFAIK.

Hi there,

I have too the Spanish version of the game (1.17f i think), and i have applied the 1.29f patch. The results are the folowing:

- Now all civilopedia texts, unit names, help texts.... ALL except perhaps the space race film countdown  are in english !!

- I had to rename MANUALLY all unit folders (on art/units) and all the unit.ini files. For example:

art/units/Destructor/Destructor.ini
art/units/Destroyer/Destroyer.ini

After that, the game seem to work very well (nearly no crashes) on my PC.

Resuming: If you don't mind changing your languaje to english and spent a lot of time fixing .ini's, apply the patch :crazyeye:
