No, they aren't ... they can get annoying, so they are forbidden.

Why is the status of forum search?
The forum search has been disabled again, to improve forum performance. For now, please use the Google search form at the top of the forum to search. It's not as good as forum's own search feature but it's better than nothing.

The first post of this thread could use an update.

How do we find out who are the moderators for certain aras\forums? Is there any way to find out?

I am specifically looking for the Civ3 - PBEM Games moderator, but I am curious to know.

Forum moderators are listed near the top right of each forum page. In the case of III PBEM, Padma, Chieftess and Turner.

EDIT: Reno provides some excellent pictures illustrating how to find out the mods in the next post.

You can view the moderator's of a certain area by going to that part of the forum and looking below the "Welcome ...." box.

All forum moderator's can be found in the Forum leaders section above the "Who's Online" box.

In the example you can see the Feedback moderators.

If a user has invisible mode enabled... does this change?

It won't even appear (the Last Activity part). Offline will always stay offline.

Try it on *a* mod now, since most use invisible mode.

I've noticed that if I'm called away from my computer for more than a few minutes, when I return I lose the bold text that shows unread topics from the entire post list. Is there some sort of time limit that affects this? If so, how long is it set for?

In a similar vein, when I'm viewing posts and that "once every 24 hours" ad comes up, the bolding of unread topics also disappears. Why does that make a difference?...or is it just me it happens to?

Thanks for any help on this.

Yes... that annoys the heck out of me when that happens. I have to go to subscribed threads, and even then I can't tell what page to start on!

Go to the "User CP" at the top of the page. Then, on the left (second on the list) is a place where you can change your e-mail.
