Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

This text is supposed to display a "button" to Opera. I want to put it in my sig, but apparently, as shown, it just appears "as shown". How do I have to change it so that it shows up as a displayed button?

<a href="http://my.opera.com/Birdjaguar/affiliate/"><img src="http://promote.opera.com/buttons/official/88x31/png-8/88x31browsergrey.png" width="88"height="31" alt="Web browser" /></a>

I took the "link" from here:

Thanks.

Which, coincidentally, is why we haven't got juvenile teens with huge signatures, comprised of almost nothing but semi-pornographic Japanese cartoons, thank goodness.

Whats wrong with that?:p

How do you choose moderators? This is no criticism of any of the staff.... just curious

Oh yeah and will Cracker ever be back?

Moderators are ultimately determined by Thunderfall. The current staff gives it's recommendations, but TF has the final say.

And as to whether or not cracker ever comes back, that's kinda up to him.

Did the forum clock jump the wrong way? I'm seeing times one hour ahead rather than one hour behind.

For me, the forum is one hour behind since 2am today (19 hours ago) This was when Victoria went into DST.

EDIT- Its correct again. Probably had something to do with DST in other areas.

Are email notification for subscribed thrreads off? I'm not getttng any, no matter how I set the switch in my user profile.

A suggestion (don't want to make a whole thread on this)!
I've only been a regular here since maybe July, but I've seen at least four "how old are you?" and "where do you live?" threads. Maybe in the interests of not having more of these, we could have an official demographics one, which when the postcount gets big enough, a mod graphs the answers into a bar chart or something? And then sticky that into Off Topic, and put in the forum rules, along with "no postcount threads", "no a/s/l threads". Of course, you'd still get religion etc polls, but maybe less of these ones hogging server resources ...

The civ 3 gen discussions has a great "Which decade were you born" thread that has a graph (poll results)

Hello,

I've searched in my profile for options to increase the font size on posts in the forum. can't find any. Does this function exist? If not I would be very happy since I've recently got some issues with my eyes.

I've tried adjusting the font size throught IE, but that didn't do anything on this forum.

Do you mean displaying everything - everyone else's posts, thread titles etc in large sizes, or just displaying your own in large sizes?
If the former, classical hero's method works like this - you remove the quotes from the number, and type your text between the two sets of codes.
If the latter, you could try a different internet brouser. I use Safari (Mac); you just hit Command-plus to make things bigger. :D
