Frequently Asked Questions

Most should be living. Some spells have damage caps which would not work on overly injured units, regardless of type. What is the specific situtaion?

I tried to cast the regeneration spell on them, but it wouldn't highlight on them, while it worked on others.

the svaraltar are elves, yet the don't have the elf promotion, this is intended?

all apocolaypse horsemen are magic immune
First, thank you for your reply. Are you absolutely sure? One time I weakened two of them substantially by Air III, so they cannot be magic immune, only have some magic resistance. Another time I hit him slightly (approx 20%) with one of six Fire III.

In their properties I did not find anything such as the immunity you are mentioning. Or is it a specific immunity (e.g. against fire)?

What exactly is required to upgrade units to mythril weapons? I went out of my way to secure mythril, and I *think* I have all the appropriate techs, but I can't get my units to upgrade.

you need to bring the unit to a city with the weaponsmith building for the mithral upgrade.

i am absolutly sure, that probobly was a bug with it not gettingmagic immunity. not only are they gaunteed to resist it, theey are also immune to its damage

they have the magic immune promotion that gives them a 100% chance to resist any hostile spell, immunity to lightning, fire, cold, and death and + 40% versus summoned units

they are guarenteed to resist the crush spell so it dosnt matter. the immunity is just to make summons pitiful versus them and meteors and fireballs do no damage

My understanding is that there is no way to resist Crush and that is the intention. Even Magic Immune does nothing because how can you resist a giant boulder falling on your head?

you can resist any hostile spell. you can resist the spell and cause it to not do any damage but there is no way to resist physicl damage so if you dont resist the spell you cant reduce the damage

all apocolaypse horsemen are magic immune
I have to apoligize, the civilopedia says this exactely. But having made the experience several times that they are definitely not - or only sometimes - magic immune by being hurt by spells, I did not believe it. Sorry!

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree: I have to argue, when it is a magic boulder it won't hit you being magic immune. That is the point: A real - i.e. non-magic - boulder in form of a meteor will hit.

The same is with lightning (Air III), fireballs and meteors etc. Actually with all spells.

The difference is: magic immunity against all spells, but not against natural lightning. Fire immunity against fire i.e. real and magic fire.

Otherwise the whole system won't work.

But I have to point out, that there is much too less magic protection possible in FfH.

Is there any place you can go to see what civs cannot build? I am looking for something that tells me that civ is a bit different from most.

For example, I am playing my first Doviello game. I was excited because I had Marble. I rushed to get Writing so I could build Libraries and one of my favorite Wonders (faster with Marble), the Great Library. Imagine my surprise when I discovered the Doviello cannot read and have Libraries. ;) I found this really strange when I had recently discovered in another game a barb city building the Great Library!

I love playing the Malakhim, but hate that they cannot build Shadows. Again, I was really surprised when I got into the game and found out it was a no-Shadow civ.

I wouldn't expect this to be on that Civ starting screen you get (although that would be nice). But, it would be really helpful when you are trying a civ for the first time if you knew not only that civ's unique buildings, units, etc. but also the 'common' things they couldn't build.

Also, it would be good to include the National Hero of each civ.

Thanks.

I fully agree! We should add it in the civilopedia and the wiki - as soon as it is available again.

I always read about the unyielding order - Malakim, which I prefer, cannot do it. Same with assassins/shadows etc as you mentioned.
