Frequently Asked Questions

strange decision yes, but it seems Kael has his hands really full these weeks. A lot of bugs and discussions going on...

And the AI still err.. terrible :)

I believe Kael's gone to Vegas this week to see this

lol!

When he gets back, he is going to REALLY have his hands full because I'm getting some kind of repeatable crash with the infernals, and it's only when I actually play them. There HAS to be a connection somewhere.

How can I add a music file I have to the soundtrack played during the game? Just drag and drop it in the soundtrack folder or must I do anything else?

.31 media pack available yet?

If not is there any way to get the old .30 one to work with it?

While this could go in the bug thread, looks like it is not causing problems.

In a few xml docs, I've seen stuff for the final frontier mod, I'm just wondering what those are doing there? just old stuff that got left behind? I'm not removing them, I'm just noticing.

If it's a forced vassalization (capitulation from a war), beating one down below the various thresholds will work. If it's a voluntary vassalization, they have to choose to break it. Which never seems to happen. At the minimum, they must keep it for the 10-turn rule, but after that, it seems they won't break it unless they dislike each other, and since they needed pretty good relations (I think) for voluntary vassalizing to start with...

Ive seen Broadway shows in New York, plays in London and about 6 different Cirque Du Soleil shows. Ka was the best show I've ever seen, it was amazing and I got to see it from the 2nd row. I sat amazed for the entire show, it was unbelivable.

After not being able to get it via Itunes, I imported the Ka CD from the States a couple of days ago. I'm listening to it today, loving it :D

Of course, the music is only a small part of it...

What are the chances of a new Ritual being introduced at a high tech level (Ether or suchlike..) that will ad a supplemental World Spell to the units of any civilization (that researches/possesses the tech) that would Awaken/Release Odio again, when a unit casts it while standing on his Prison?

I know I'm totally spitballing here, but if he could be brought on board as either a new 1 unit faction that is allied to the caster or under the caster's control, that would be pretty neato...

Or is there already a plan for Odio, like I understand there is for the Letum Frigus in the next version?

He's been mentioned as a possible evil alternative to Brigid the Shining a couple of times. Don't think there's been anything concrete decided though.

Well, the main problem I see is how World Spells themselves work. They use the Feat mechanism, and a civ is allowed to cast any world spell (if all the other requirements are met. Currently all world spells are civ specific, so each civ would only have access to one.) when the feat in not accomplished. Casting a world spell makes the feat accomplished, and Birthright Regained makes it once smore unaccomplished. There is nothing to keep track of how often a spell has been cast overall. This means if it were a world spell it would only work with civs that haven't used their world spell yet, that every such civcould cast it, and that it would deprive them of their normal world spell.

Of course, you could forget about making it a world spell, and instead make it have a python prereq. It could work like Resurrection, where it is allowed when the Odio unit is not present in the world but its world limit has already been reached. It could also require the caster be on Odio's Prison.

It wouldn't be hard to ad a spell n that way. Adding a one unit civ doesn't seem like a good idea to me, but freeing and taking over Odio sees fine.

It could also be made to happen through an event pretty easily.

I know of no plans for the Letum Frigus coming up soon. Are you confusing that with Brigit's Prison?

I was under the impression that Letum Frigus was going to play a part in the next Ice phase, the return of Mulcarn and all that....at least, that was the inference that I have drawn from multiple veiled posts across the forum.

Releasing Odio should also have an AC requirement, to represent the interdimensional weakening that would allow his escape. I agree that it doesn't have to be a World Spell, so long as it can't be repeated once he has been summoned once, even if he were then to die at some point.

Interested in Kael's opinion, if he has one on this possibly far-fetched potentiality....

If someone made the art for the Odio unit I would gladly add a rare event with an AC min that caused Odio to turn into a unit and start rampaging about. But to be honest there is other art requests that have a high priority than this.

Care to describe what you envision Odio as so that someone with too much time on their hands and an interest might be able to make an attempt (note: that is NOT me).

He would have to match the model in the feature.

With 0.32 in the works, can we expect any patches between now and when its released?
