Frequently Asked Questions

If I recall, it will create a copy of an enemy unit that ends it's turn next to that city. Never struck me as all that useful, but it might be neat on a coastal city, since the enemy loves to roll privateers around and sink my fishing boats.

great defensive building. An enemy hero marches up towards your town, and you beat him down with a copy of himself!

lol, I can imagine walking up to that sort of city with a stack and upon reaching the city, you find your troops faced with exact duplicates of themselves.

I'm playing the Balseraphs in a current game since I wanted to check out the mutate promotion and the insane 'trait' that Perpentach has, and I'm using him as the leader in that game.

Does anybody have any tips as far as getting animals? I'm playing a small map and territory gets snapped up pretty quick and most of the animals are killed before I can get to them.

I pretty sure that Halls of Mirrors can only mirror one rival unit per turn, so you certainly should use stacks against them.

The double animals option should help, but the main thing is to play with fewer than the standard number of civs, so there is plenty of room for animals to spawn without scouts hunting them down.

You could also try starting in a later age and/or using advanced start so you can get the techs/units that can capture them much sooner.

yea well, I am sort of 'guarding' two elephants near my territory (they really don't go very far from thier spawn area, and the AI usually ignores them) and planning on maybe caging them if possible. mutated elephants ftw, lol :)

I'm doing a normal game atm, but I'll consider that next time.

For future reference (at least until it gets buried), the four phases of Fall from Heaven II went as follows:

Light added the magic system

Fire added the Armageddon counter and the Infernal and Mercurian civilisations

Shadow added the Council of Esus and Empyrean religions, the Svartalfar and Sidar civilisations, the World Spells and the Overcouncil/Undercouncil.

Ice will add the scenarios and the Illian civilisation (currently only selectable in custom games)

The team is currently working on ironing out bugs in Shadow, and the Ice phase.

Oh and the Age of Ice was the period of time before the game begins. It is a scenario available through Civ4: Beyond the Sword, featuring the Amurite, Doviello and Illian civilisations. It has no relation to the Ice phase of Fall From Heaven II (besides presence of the Illian civilisation).

Hope that helps clear up any confusion you might have :)

Yes to both. Dragons are all Unitcombat Beast, and thus can be captured using Subdue Beasts. Even if they have the Promotion Hero.

However, if they are flagged as unable to be captured, then all bets are off (none in the main mod are thus flagged though).

a quick question if you allow: is it possible to subdue a dragon with Subdue beast? Does it work on beast heroes?
tia

Yes; that is kinda the only reason to have the promotion. It works on Acheron, Abashi, Eurabatres, Gurid, Margalard, Leviathan, (if you can so mehow get a beastmaster with waterwalking :p), Beasts of Agares, Hill Giants, Krakens (again, you'll need waterwalking, or maybe flying), Manticores, Pit Beasts, Sand Lions, and any unit a modmoder decides to add and give unitcombat_beast.

All werewolves are now Animals, ans can be captured by a mere ranger easily. I personally think that the Baron and Greater werewolves at least should be Beasts though...

The werewolf civ modmod changes them all to beasts.

are the BUG mod or Civ4lerts compatible with FFH2. If not is there any plans for some amazing modders to make something comperable. It really increases the fun of Civ4 for me.

There is a modmod in the works to make them compatible, but it is not finished yet. The progress so far can be found here
