Frequently Asked Questions

Well, you can see the effect (like a Pillar of Fire on the approaching stack) and can compare the enemy's health before and after.

Heh, please quote the question you are answering. (New page for me, and another post in between)

Units with hidden nationality can not be grouped even with other hn units- is there a reason for this or is it a bug? It's annoying having to move larry, moe and curly individually.

Welcome back :)
I don't really know the reason, but it's not a bug. I agree that it's fairly annoying

Council of Essus wonder of the world- is there any building that replaces it's lost functionality? (all units built in this city start with hidden nationality)

Don't think so

I've started 3 games now up through Acheron coming into the world. Whatever happened to the pirate ship full of skeletons? am I just lucky that it hasn't made an appearance or was it removed?/
Acheron comes into every game where the Barbs have a city long enough to build him (ie nearly every one) unless you select his removal in the pre-game option screen. This is the same with Orthus, a str 5 Barbarian hero with a special item which gives +1 fire str to the holder (and can be claimed if you kill him). Acheron doesn't move from his city, Orthus can.

How exactly do the 2 new "religions" work?

Sorry, I don't know what the 'new' religions are. All of them work pretty much the same apart from CoE, which doesn't have any specific buildings and doesn't show up as the follower's religion.

I'm having a problem with the patch version in the Readme file. It hasn't update since 0.40r yet I've installed each since (s, t, and v). Oddly enough, I noticed my laptop has 0.40t, (though I've run the updated patch v) so something is going on. It's hard to confirm what patch I'm using without the readme file. For instance, I think I've noticed an updated Govannon model but I'm not seeing the splattering blood (though there may be some graphic settings required for this).
Appreciate any help, thanks.

Yes, which makes troubleshooting it hard. There is one stack directly S. of a city that is now fortified and has suffered injuries. I assume that is from the citadel. However, other units around the same city are not injured. AND, units around other cities (stacks and individuals) are also not injured.

So, I don't know if only one stack can be targeted per turn, or if the others are just getting lucky, or what.

Acheron and Orthus still show up, I was asking about the ghost pirate ship that used to dump skeletons on you early in the game.

Yes, CoE and Empyreen. Just wondering what is special about them.

Another question- How do I turn on the combat logs? That tab is always empty when I check it.

Also, not really a question more of a comment- "big" units like griffons and elephants block the tooltips, making it impossible to see how many turns it will take to heal. A minor annoyance.

Sailor's dirge only has a 20% chance of being included in a game. It's trigged by an event.

I would suggest reading the manual about them to get a basic idea.

Is it necessary to install the patches in order if I've taken a break from the game for a while? For example, if I left off at "n" and now we're at "v", do I have to install every patch from "o" to "v", or can I just install "v"?

no, each patch is all inclusive. Only install the most recent one.
Great, thanks for that. I suspected it was so, but wasn't 100% sure. :)

Might be the wrong thread for a bug report like this, but I had the same problem.

I believe it's a Vista issue, all of the installers (Fall Further as well) want to go to /Mods, and changing it to where it *should* be, doesn't seem to work all the way.

The way I fixed it, is to make a Mods folder in your C: drive (should be something like C:\Mods), put your clean install of FFH into it, run the patcher, and have it install to there. After you do the install, you can move the FFH folder back to it's regular home, and everything will be fine.

Sorry, forgot to answer that part. I've never seen it, but it seems it exists as a rarity.

.

There's no straightforward option as far as I'm aware. I noticed this in another thread earlier but someone else will have to explain it...

Combat Log is disabled to enhance game performance. It can be restored manually by editing the CallBack defines.
The team knows what we want!

If you're playing on a high graphics setting you can drag the model out of the way with your mouse :)

playing my first game, as grigori. i have two adventurers, one i upgraded to a warrior, one is still an adventurer. i have axemen and slayers available, how come i cant upgrade either of the adventurers (warrior has no options, adventurer has only scout and warrior available)?

e: added my save. maybe someone can take a quick look and tell me some of the things im doing wrong.
currently trying to level up my hill giants and cranking out some slayers before invading the purple dude to the west.
i guess it was a mistake to make my capitol into a science/gp city as it means less adventurers.

The reason is the nearest city to them has no training yard, which is required to build axemen etc. If you build one there, you will be able to upgrade them into axemen/dragonslayers (or move them to a city which already has one.)

how come my great general counter reads 150/30? I got one great commander, which seems to be the FFH equivalent, did i just get him as a regular great person (was a long time ago, dont remember what buildings i had at the time)?
