Friendly, fun, noob to moderate level game!

We don't NEED 4 religions. However, the synagog (different for each religion) gives +50% culture. If we have 3 religious buildings of this type per cultural city, that is +150%. If we have 4, that is +200%. In our cities, we currently have 4 religions and we have the ability to spread all 4 around to each city so that we can construct these special buildings. If someone spreads a fifth religion to us, I thing we should try to get that religion's special +50 culture building too.

For each synagog, you need 3 temples. Thus for 3 synagogs (one in each cultural city) you need 9 temples - hence 9 cities.

Edit: I also found that if we do change to Islam, then we can only 'see' the foreign cities that have Islam although we continue to get the $ from the Jewish cities.

I've spread more of our religions around. I think we should research until steel, start building cannons and then turn our culture up to 90% and go for the cultural victory. However, have a look at the next few techs and see if we can get a better defensive unit.
 
I was more thinking about cannons as a way to take down great stacks of units. Should we invite others to join to spread the load?
 
Up to the captain ... (opps, sorry, its Colonel, Sir! :salute:). It might be too late though ... I wonder if a 1800AD-bottom-in-power-going-for-cultural-win SG would attract much crowd :D :lol:

Anyway, I am playing tonight (my night, around 9hrs away). and then its colonel's turn again if he has free time. Else, Colonel, let me know, and perhaps I'll play 20 turns instead of 10 tonight ;)

And sure, we need a couple of cannons just in case someone do bring in a SoD. I am just saying we need more Grenadiers than Cannons. :D

Suggest revolting to Islam as state religion to further boost CC2's culture.
Suggest also to spread Buddhism now.

Also, over-built one Hindu Missionary (in anticipation of failed mission which never occur), consider gifting to Hatty to improve relationship.

Assuming no change in cultural production, it will take our slowest city (CC3) 148 turns to reach 50000. A tad too long, let's try to shave it down to <100 turns. Should be able to, with Buddhist Stupp. coming up in CC3. We cann also start producing culture in poorest city (CC3), might help a bit.

Also, suggest changing state religion to Islam.

As for spreading of buddhism to all cities, may not need it, since our poorest CC3 is already buidling the Buddhist Stupp.

I turned the research back up to get railroads and infantry. This should enable us to build suitable defenses and move them around. All our cities have the 4 religions ...

... and all of our cities have 4 temples. The three culture cities are building the religious multiplier buildings and they are pumping out culture (see above). From here, it is just a matter of pressing ENTER and waiting. I put the artists in the CCs and we also got a GP Prophet - created the Islam $ building.

sure - just find someone else to join you and pick on someone weak and someone that already hates us! But do it soon, before they get too far in front tech wise.
 
no, tommy is still there. On second thought, you might want to keep all of our units for the battle at the end. Cultural victories mean that you dial up the culture and down the tech research so others start getting in front tech-wise. I expect that we will be attacked as we near our victory condition - prob by America - they don't like us and are the leader in score.

Let's do some mathematics, shall we?

CC1: (50000 - 27657) / 564 = 40 turns
CC2: (50000 - 25575) / 676 = 36 turns
CC3: (50000 - 27863) / 655 = 34 turns

So, we will reach our victory in 40 turns. However, a few things will affect the 40 turns estimate:

(1) Great Artists

I have saved one GA. Calculated that a cultural bomb would serve us better than the measly 12+200% specialists.
I estimate we should pop another GP within the next 8 turns in CC2:

Next player might want to add another artist (at the expense of starving) to steer the odds more favorably towards popping a GA.

Assuming we have 2 GAs in the next 30 turns, we can shave off 7 turns from CC1, and 5~6 turns from CC2, making our victory at 33 turns later.


(2) Economy

We can't susbtain 1000% culture any much longer. we are losing 20 golds with 166 in coffers, meaning we would be forced to reduce culture slider to 90%. This will add the turns count to CC1,2,3 by 10% (i.e. 4 more turns).

To that end, I have started building banks in some cities (at the expense of military, of-course, a risk I'm willing to take). Hopefully that will counter the nagative gold flow in 8 turns.

Next player can also trade away Industrialism for some gold. Hatty has it now, so soon everyone would have it.


(3) War

I have beefed up the defense in all our cities a little. In the next 40 turns, we have to hope that no one would war with us. Keep our monopoly of AssemLines at all costs!!
