1. im not sure if i have enough super-specialists...

2-5. a series of rare good luck i had... popped a hut right next to my capital when i settled it to get another settler... within the next 20 turns i popped huts giving me a second scout, a worker, a tech, and a bunch of money. so naturally what do i do? spend all my money being a tech whore just in time to build the oracle before my coffers crash.

Honestly, IMHO, getting a Settler way early in the game is better than getting a free tech.

No offence, but are u playing at a low level? I never got a settler before

yeah its on warlord :/ ... my computer went kaput and after 3 months my mom finally got it fixed and im still trying to get in the swing of things even though before i was only on warlord about to go to noble...
but it turned out to be an interesting game. i kinda abused the large amounts of money i got from the huts and had 4 cities when i built the oracle while running 90-100% research because i had alotta money to use from my coffers from all the huts. unfortunately right around the time of the oracle i spiraled downwards. i had to tone down research to about 60% for MANY turns, my cities grew too fast and got unhappy, even with whipping reducing the population, so i had to keep about 4-5 troops in each city with hereditary rule. it wasnt until about turn 250 (on epic speed) things finally got better. my economy started getting better from all the wonders i built since i couldnt go to many wars, then i was able to put my culture slider at 10% to keep the cities happy. now, it is too late for going for a domination/conquest victory so im stuck trying to win a diplo but more likely the space race (plus im russia so my ub will help)

Before this I saw a stack of three archers (Barbarian) going towards my direction, I'm building Quechuas as precaution but wow, that sucks for Ragnar.

I couldn't (not enough gold from goodie huts) so I abandoned said game. In this new one, Egypt got conquered by Barbarians... :/

What????? You abandoned a game where you had a second capital location available to you in 2960BC???? Aiii!! Come on, the bad maintenance situation does last long - get a worker there and develop some tiles and you're laughing. So you'll be slow on tech until about 2000BC, then you fly!

Although I find it a bit odd you left that game, I might give you the next advice on goodie huts.

Use scouts for them!

Scouts get better chances on a better result from goodie hits than a warriortype unit.
