[GS] Future Update?

What if, and I only suggest this based on some of the questions in the survey, STK is an abbreviation for something like "Season Ticket."
This is actually not a bad suggestion. Especially if they are going with the mini-DLC option (like I think they will) and they are planning on quarterly DLC (which the 1 in STK1 might imply) if they rolled out a season ticket plan to buy them in advance (full year at a discount) that would make the acronym make perfect sense.

Of course, I'll also lend support to SeanBean Totally Killed, and every DLC in the STK series has an intro/preview video where Sean Bean gets killed in new and glorious ways.

I just realised I wouldn't mind a DLC in the form of Beyond Earth (yeah, quite a big DLC), where at the end of a game where the first person gets a science victory, all data on the map gets processed and transported to a new world. Civs then get advantages based on their home world achievements. Got a diplomatic victory? Automatic diplomatic bonuses on the new world. Got a culture victory? Start with more civics boosted or even played free.

That kind of stuff I would LOVE.

I also really liked the atmosphere of Beyond Earth, but I never sank many hours into it because I couldn't deal with the tech web. I just never know if I'm progressing at a right speed..

I don't know. If they're planning a full suite of these, a small DLC every few months, I can see the case for launching a "season ticket" for those.

It's the most convincing interpretation yet for STK, imo.

I agree it is. And I've argued they may release more DLC bundles before. But I never considered season passes.

So, evidence for bundles:

STK1 -> Only other content using numericals were the DLC packs.

10 Achievements -> Only DLC packs have had 10 achievements.

STK1, 2, etc -> Easy way to name content for which you don't have actual naming yet.

Besides, they know we would notice it as soon as they updated it, so they wouldn't name it DLC7(8?) even if it is a DLC pack.

Indeed - as per the pre-R&F DLC, 10 is the right number for a Civ DLC with accompanying scenario. So we could see something similar.

If they are doing this - releasing new Civs after two expansions have come out, but not tied to a third expansion - then I'm quite interested to see how they make that work with the different expansion mechanics. I suspect it may mean that all new content added this way will have to work with base game mechanics, so as to not exclude those who haven't bought the two expansions. Which would be a shame, if so.

We have a battleground mode so its time for Civ 6 fps mode "Shoot to kill".

I'd like Stealth Game Mode where you play as Scout and just have to get past some barbarian encampments to assasinate key targets.
DisCivilized.

By the way, we are really desperate, we only know there's something about STK and we already have like 5+ post pages of crazy speculations. I am afraid that when they do announce some larger content, I will return here and won't even see the interface, just buttons of pages. So many pages. Pages upon pages. Waiting to be read. To take my sanity.

So here's (another) possibility:

They'll be releasing more fleshed out FREE updates from now on, maybe for a couple of years, with updated and improved mechanics, etc, and they'll support this by releasing new paid DLC at the same time.

The format could be: 1 Civ with a Leader + Alt Leader for the base game, plus a scenario. You need a scenario to justify 10 achievements.

This would mean no 3exp. Only a Complete Edition at the end.

OR it's just alts.

But I don't care for either of these options much.

My hopes is that we'll get 2 or 3 new DLC in 2020 and then a final expansion released or announced in November.

I have hopes for two things in next patch:
- fix pathing of units
- add missing features to world builder

Maybe it is a good time to write down all wishes for next patch. Its features will likely soon be out in a dev video or patch notes page anyway.

My hopes are:
- Added AI aggression (especcially in 2nd part of the game). More wars and conflicts.
- Naval improvements. (The human player has to big an advantage at sea. Especcially when a larger number of ships is involved. With 2 ships of the line and any lower tier melee ship you could take over whole coastlines out of range without opposition)
- Less rock band sounds at start of the turn, and tone down overall effectiveness on culture victory by rock bands. In favor of other culture generators like great works and wonders.
- Add 4-5 points to win a diplomatic victory
- More meaningfull/impactfull world council events.

I'm cool with a season ticket system. It seems like it would be the likely result of the questionnaire from last summer. And I liked the DLC 1-7.

Look honestly I am easy: Can I add to my map = it's okay with me

A plus side of that. If there's no 3XP, only DLC, they may finally be releasing the source code for modders.

The release of any expansion or not probably doesn't have anything to do with Firaxis releasing the DLL. The Civ 5 source was released before Brave New World came out.

i think we lost our creative touch , let me open another avenue . what if STK is a misdirect and they try to hide the true letters like a cipher ( exchange all letters with the next one on the alphabet ) TUL , the ultimate leader , you can play as all civs with this leader?
