I tend to agree. This topic keeps meandering to discussions that (rightly) are sanctioned for being off-topic, for the simple reason that the ostensible topic is a complete non-starter right now. We are going around in circles, and even the dwarves of Moria could not delve deeply enough to unearth anything but more tinfoil hats. Not to be overly cynical, but at what point does this thread get closed, or at least renamed, to something more appropriate, like "Nebulous Future of the Game?" We're obviously no longer talking about "a winter patch", we're speculating about a DLC, a 3rd expansion, a spin-off game, and, at this point, if Civ6 is dead and we're awaiting a Civ7 announcement. The lack of anything but pre-scheduled filler from Firaxis makes it look like the team is working on something non-Civ6 related (which leads me to believe that the "we're not done!" means spin off).
Happy forumversary! Eight years for me - to the day!Edit: Holy Hell I have 14 years registered on this forum.

FIFYfiraxis still has more then a month left tillastrologicalastronomical spring starts. And even if a patch launches before 19 march it could also be called a march patch or whatever name make sense.

Patch or no patch, this thread is a marvel to read.
Things like "dev x posted a tweet about their lunch, this means civ y is obviously coming", I mean the straws that's been grasped...![]()

we could also say 13 months till next years equinox , which technically is more realistic at this time
apologies. My English grammar is abysmal. As i’ve told countless times on the civfatatics forum by now. I feel no shame as i can beat you at a dutch grammar contest any time.
About 16 hours of silence... That is how much we have given up on the game. Makes me kind of sad.
In the early days it was the mac or Linux part of the game, that was the reason for delays.
In my opinion, we the PC master-race are suffering for the expanding to other platforms. I'm guessing it takes time to make an update/3rd exp / DLC / season pass /what ever, to be "identical" on all (6?) platforms.
Is it smart to expand, when the game is not yet "finish" and has its bugs?

I really like how leaders would change their appearance and background depending on their era in Civ3. Not that I think it would be something they'd add in another xp for Civ6, but perhaps they'll return the feature in Civ7, regarding the "33/33/33" rule.

Unless they have cheap technology to pull it off, I doubt it. It's an expensive venture for a very little pay off (it's purely aesthethic for one). While cool on paper. You'd have to make X times the assets for each leader, which would, again, just be an expensive thing to pull off game-design wise.
"Might be a one time thing" while PC/Mac gaming still, 30 years on, never seems to be a unitary process that is able to launch patches and versions on the same day without hiccups.Alternatively, maybe the delay, should it be caused by consoles, might be one-time thing of them figuring out / testing how to force it into some reliable pipeline to make it faster for future releases.
I am only guessing here tho, no experience with multi-platform development.
