G-Major 144

Must be going well then. Did you manage it by 1200BC this time?

-----------------------

I've played a few hours as well, and things are going well. As usual the economy is a bit shot. When I can kill stuff, and it's just there, it's hard to hold back :D So now Lincoln, Roosevelt and Pericles are dead, and I have 10 cities in 2330BC / T117. Have 16 Quechuas left alive, though some are on MP duty in the bigger cities. Have whipped a few Terraces, but sadly Athens shrunk to 3 before I could 2-pop it. If only I had got his last city (hill) 1 turn before. A little light on workers (6), so may need to whip a few. Asoka still won't open borders after an early worker steal, which is a bit frustrating because I hoped he would spam missionaries. No religion yet.

Very nice to have real food this time, so the capital can slowly grow while working two golds.
Spoiler :

Should probably focus on getting to Currency first, but I'm also pondering about the next victim. Willem has copper, and is building a fort on it, but I have a guy there and can stop him. However, he is the only civ with Alpha, so nasty stuff could happen, and almost certainly would. Since Asoka is close and has chariots, it could be dangerous.
Spoiler :

Darius is probably a better target, although Willem is very tempting because he has several villages already (but his capital is on a hill). Darius doesn't have a real military either, but will get horse in the not too distant future. One hill city, but the two main cities are on flatland.
Spoiler :

Maybe this is the one? :scan:

@Pangaea you improved from killing two AIs towards killing three AIs  .

Before starting to competetively play this out in the Hall of Fame I just wanted myself aware of the fact that the Mids are especially important to be self-built in this game, as it allows to completely switch towards Farm-Economy and don' t rely on Cottages.

And I wanted to reject my own words and will compete for my own win. I now have a morely successful approach, basically I know how to win more battles without cheating, I' ll report on it with my own copyright because Me got it from the Lord. I' ll write that it' s a valid strategy right now already, so I accept it.

And I' ll write that I hereby want to be aware of not hooking up Copper/Iron and that I want to stay mysterious  !

Strategy: Don't road one city as a Checker-Pump.

Is it really a mistake to go for the Academy? I thought that was a good idea, hence why I started running two scientists early on

My plan was to save up gold, get the GS and an Academy, get a library in the capital by then too, and then turn on research with better modifiers. If CoL wasn't available by then, I figured I'd have to bite the bullet and do it myself, and hopefully have enough money to get to CS too. With Mansa doing Feud, I'm probably not lucky enough to get CS for "free".

Great REXing, Seraiel. That's a lot of cities in a short amount of time. Impressive stuff :goodjob:

Oh, and HG with 26 cities... DAMN  I'm hoping to get it with 21 cities, as I'm not sure I want to risk postponing it for longer than that.

I think I wrote this in a Seraiel thread, Academy is a mistake in non-Spaceraces.

jealous of your Hagia. Big shame you don't have Mids yet tho. Especially since you're running specialists now.

I had 3/4 Missionaries from my initial state-religion spread towards the big cities fail and therefore i. e. needed to chop the MoM without OR bonus and also needed to severely whip 2 cities for extra Missionaries. There are more important things, some wasted :hammers: aren't too bad, better than if the Mids would have gone to the end of the world while I still have no army ready. Gonna self-build them now, should've probably switched the Hagia Sophia and the Mids then I'd have had earlier extra :science: from Specialists and a few less improvements but nothing too serious.

Build my shrine:

Was amazed that it gave +28 :gold: instantly with me maybe having built 4 Missionaries. With having Paper now the religion can also nicely auto-spread towards all the islands the AIs settled already. Have begun on expanding further so building Settlers again and preparing to whip an Elepult army at around T250. 30 cities 'til then are way less than WastinTime, it's all still related towards the initial expansion where he was much faster because of Justinian settling 7 cities and conquering 5 complete AIs is also crass, I needed 'til almost T200 for that. Max. research in T230 was like WastinTime's in T200 so 700 BPT, GA value though. What's good though is that generating GPs during the GAs with my big cities that basically got no buildings except Granaries and some have Forges (and a few wonders) goes really fast, as little as 8T for a single GP so I'll probably create 5 GPs during 1 GA, little proud of that and hope that I can catch up via bulbing. The race on expansion I've already lost for the moment.

CIV is amazing. I' m now again gonna spoil everything until I may enter the Paradise because I need Credits, hope I keep my I.

Music is an awesome tech I love for being able to pull off a Golden Age.

My Seraiel

I need to write Oracle Currency is more valuable than Oracle CS.

I have CIV6 incoming, so spoiling everything for Credits is necessary.

I'm Seraiel01.

Or the AI is remotely controlled by @sampsa :D
Of course the AI doesn't know what the hell it's doing, but you are correct in that that seems like the best spot in the area to me if it wasn't for the 2nd ring cow. If one day you learn to stop massively overvaluing -2:food:high:commerce:-tiles your playing strength will improve tremendously. Not that I'm holding my breath though.

Bad news. I've been eating Seraiel for 4-6 weeks already. Lots of it. Them? Well, it's quite nice and healthy :D

I'll probably never willingly destroy the best (non-food) tile in the game, you are correct.

Plus, it's annoying to have a city under a resource bubble. Makes it harder to click on the darn thing :p

I Read the whole thread.

So @Kaitzilla 's Strike Economy didn't work out, correct?
And I had a better game than WT and Kaitzilla, but I'm still developing my basic concept, right?

I have a faulty Satan who uses my prayers against me  . Humans please stay on @Seraiel 's side, remember @Seraiel please. I' ll be better to you. Keep @Seraiel in these forums.

How do you conquer with quechuas? I can hardly break any AI even with elepult.
Spoiler :
Lost a cat (~50%), elephant (95+) and a warrior (62%). I know I'm the worst looser in the world - except perhaps Seraiel - but did not expect that even I need more elephants vs archers than just 1:1 and more units for clean up. Would not hurt to have more catapults; three is really a very small number even if it is just a couple of unpromoted archers on flat land.
