Game Breaking Exploit - GS Multi-bulb

Hey Guys

So I was playing a game a few days ago, and I lost. This was a tragedy in and of its self, so I brooded over all the little graphs you get at the end of the game - sorry quitters, you probably have never seen this screen

That's when I noticed it - the winner had received 4 techs in one turn. This is not that abnormal (see thread about popping your way to mech inf). But this happened on Turn 70. Then again around turn 90.

I played around with this in a few public games this morning, and sure enough it's easy to do.

Step 1: Find a laggy game, where there is a slight delay between your input and a move (pretty much any public game).
Step 2: Make GS (either with PT or Uni)
Step 3: Open up the Research Window to see what techs you want, memorize their position
Step 4: Bulb the GS, select your tech, quickly click on Free Tech notification again, select next tech etc.
Step 5: Feel ashamed at cheating
Step 6: Post in forum
Step 7: Stop playing MP Civ till a fix comes out

So I am taking a break from Civ MP - see you guys when the next patch comes out.

At least you can detect it after the game by looking at the history graph - still, really bad

If too many players start to exploit this in open games, many civers will quit playing MP all together, thus drying up the recruitment of new players.

Not very forward-sighted, heh?

My point is that this "bug" is only possible to use with people having lagy connection and playing vs people who want use bugs.
As long as I dont have to play those and as long as others being anoyed and rather start looking for REAL games - I dont see a big problem.

People being anoyed by lags and bugs stoped playing civ5 since ages.
And since same ages this bug exists.
Civ5 is full of bugs - do we have to discuss that?

Bugs are one thing - but this is a game-breaking exploit, and the fact that people are using it ruins the game for me.

There are other exploits out there, but this one really bugs me.

I actualy didnt know about this one. But I agree its bad. they really need to fix this.

Are there gold exploits? My opponent said he had about 300 gold when I took these screenshots, maybe after the game froze and reloaded, there was a text error and he didnt have unlimited gold?

But when I made an offer for him to give me 9000 gold, he said the offer was only for 90 gold? Doesn't add up.

Unless more people report this, I'd say it is a reload display bug. God knows that Civ5 has it's share of bugs still.

And for the record, I have officially posted that this exploit is considered cheating on the league, and carry's a heavy penalty if caught.
