Hi folks,
I have Civ4 Gold and BTS. I notice in both fullscreen and windowed view my textures tend to "explode" out as the game progresses - a little triangle will snap out an edge of the screen from a given figure and then go away. After a while one of the following will occur:
- BSOD - error is not handy, but something about display.
- Computer freezes completely, can't even alt-tab or ctrl-alt-del.
- Left monitor will display "Over Range" error and then both monitors will shut down.
- The monitor will flash and Vista will display an error much like: "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered." This will continue until finally one of the above outcomes occur.
I have dual monitors, am running Desktop Earth, sidebar, and CivIV. I use an X1300 ATI card, and yes, the drivers are up to date. This is the only game that has this error, and I run some fairly graphics intensive games.
The computer is a dual core 1.8 gig from HP, and I have 2 gigs of RAM.
Thoughts? This sure sounds like graphics card issues, but I can't find any information about how to fix.
