Game lags every time I click or move a unit

My frames are perfectly fine when looking around on the map but every time I click on a unit the game stutters badly. I know this is a huge mod but my computer is pretty powerful and would like to know if you guys have any ways to make it run smoother, turning the graphics down doesn't seem to make it run any better and closing tasks in task manager and giving civ4 high priority doesn't seem to make a noticeable difference.

It's kinda lame because I really enjoy playing this mod especially on the really slow settings and its very aggravating having to wait 10 seconds for a turn to pass and the first couple of turns so I can only imagine how much worse it will get.

If you're finding 10 second delays aggravating, give up now. We've done a lot to speed things up but we've also opted for putting in more content and detail and making that far more important than the speed of play. I'm being simply honest. We get up to 5 minute turn times later in the game. If the game itself isn't worth being patient with for 10 seconds between turns or for a stutter when you select a unit, as it goes through figuring out all the things that unit can or cannot do before it gives you the fully compiled action selection display, it's never going to be worth it when it pushes 5 minutes.

That's a shame. I'm still gonna play it but I was hoping there was something I could do to speed it up.

The faster your CPU the better the turn times. Why? Because BtS has a 32 bit Single Thread game engine. And you will never use more than 2.9+GB of memory. If it goes above 3 GB you will CTD. So CPU processing speed is the most Critical area for faster turn times. A video card with at least 1GB of DDR3 (preferably DDR5) is sufficient but a 2GB or more Vid card is better. To relieve some of the Graphic load from the main ram.

I don't mind 10 min turns, but having a delay everytime I interact with the game is very hard for me.

Thanks, but i am still unable to solve my issue, also not sure if its just how Civ4 runs with this massive mod.
Basically every unit movement there is an animation stutter, they start moving then stutter then appear where i sent them STUTTER then game is normal. Opening city view, civilopidia same issue 2-3 second delay where everything freezes.
If this is just how the game runs thats fine, but something doesnt seem right and id much rather it not behave this way. The whole experience is just very unresponsive in general, as stated above i have no issue with long turn times, but constant 1-2-3- second delays doing anything is hard to live with for me.

Running on an SSD
win10
3770K
2400mhz ram
Gtx 1080

Getting 144 fps, have set refresh to 60 to see if that helps, it does not.
Out of ideas.

You're dealing with the graphics paging that was implemented a while back that allows us to save a tremendous amount of in-play ram memory to extend the game extensively past memory crashes we were getting. In short, the screen must load all data it's going to display when it goes to display it. It then dumps that memory immediately upon not requiring it. C2C does not pan smoothly across the map nor switch to a new portion of the map without a bit of pause for this reason. City View and Civilopedia also suffer from loading quite a bit of data before it can open the display then dumping it all as soon as you are out.

I posted a video showing what i experience, if this is just how it is im ok with that, this mod is astoundingly wonderful, if you could comment on the video i linked i would be very grateful.

I get big lag when my score display is toggled.

seems to run smooth when I have it off.
