Game resizes to 800x 600 resolution every time

An its a pain in the ass!

I have C3C, patched.

Yet when i play the game on this laptop, it resizes and does not even use all the screen! Also, afterwards the computer is at super low resolution.

How do I get this game to run at maximum resolution?

KeepRes=1
Can be 0 or 1. If 1, your screen resolution is used for the game instead of the default 1024x768.

Video Mode=1280
Can be 1024, 1152, 1280, 1600, 1792. Changes the game's resolution to the value specified (instead of the default 1024x768).

i vaguely know what you mean..but where do i edit this?

There is an INI file in each of the versions, once you have used that version. I do not recall the exact name, it is something like Civ3conquest.ini. That is were you can add these options.

I had some issues with Win7 and had to use the KeepRes.

that sometimes happens to me, but only if i close the screen to take it outside without quitting the game first.

If you can't find the INI file, anyone, it is the Configuration Settings. I had some problems finding it on XP.

An alternative way is to tamper with the screen itself, my monitor has a button that lets you switch between 'Auto' and 'Wide', Auto keeps original resolution while Wide stretches it around.
