Sounds fair. How about setting Dux to AI while he's away too, if we can't find an appropriate sub?If we're not pausing the game, I suggest we turn DMOC to AI until things get sorted out. He would have lost 2 turns already without pause. If DMOC wants to continue he can take back control or billybones or someone else could do it.
Cool. That's the first person you've met, right? So now there's nobody left in this game that's all isolated?Edit: Ho! My ship sees Elucidus's borders off on the horizon! Ha, we were so close but my ship had gone off in the wrong direction. We'll officially meet next turn.
Well, not really lose a turn, it's just the AI will play it for you. Usually preferable to not playing it at all...Yeah and if you are, be sure to send him your password as soon as possible so he can take over. If Elucidus has to switch you to AI, you'll lose a turn to it...
Indeed. I've had experiences with that too, and it can be a pain. It's nice to just send a quick PM stating any trade deals, alliance negotiations (etc) in progress, and a rough game plan (eg, expansion in direction X followed by direction Y, war with nation Z). The person taking over for you may not stick to your plans, but at least they'll know the background to the game.also don't forget to PM him things like your basic plans and current diplomatic situation with all the civs you've met. I can say from experience it is very annoying taking over someone's civilization and not being given that information! It is fairly important.
that is the same problem as me. i would need a backup player if I were to take over for DMOC, due to an extremely unreliable disk drive,
Sounds like a match made in heaven.

Okay, fair enough. Go ahead then. No, he asked me to sub for him. If no appropiate human sub can show up in the next hour (before I go to bed) I'm taking over, wouldn't be fair to stick him with an AI against his will. Elucidus didn't speak up so whoever.
Er, I've already passed the torch.![]()
Well now billybones just has to be able to log in once every twelve hours to keep the game going at a decent rate.
Though to be honest at this point I wouldn't mind just making that civ an AI permanently just so this crap can get moving again.
Just so Luc is clear: convert DMOC to AI (and only DMOC).Convert to AI until we have a reliable player.
