Game Saturn

If we're not pausing the game, I suggest we turn DMOC to AI until things get sorted out. He would have lost 2 turns already without pause. If DMOC wants to continue he can take back control or billybones or someone else could do it.
Sounds fair. How about setting Dux to AI while he's away too, if we can't find an appropriate sub?

Edit: Ho! My ship sees Elucidus's borders off on the horizon! Ha, we were so close but my ship had gone off in the wrong direction. We'll officially meet next turn.
Cool. That's the first person you've met, right? So now there's nobody left in this game that's all isolated?

Yeah and if you are, be sure to send him your password as soon as possible so he can take over. If Elucidus has to switch you to AI, you'll lose a turn to it...
Well, not really lose a turn, it's just the AI will play it for you. Usually preferable to not playing it at all...

also don't forget to PM him things like your basic plans and current diplomatic situation with all the civs you've met. I can say from experience it is very annoying taking over someone's civilization and not being given that information! It is fairly important.
Indeed. I've had experiences with that too, and it can be a pain. It's nice to just send a quick PM stating any trade deals, alliance negotiations (etc) in progress, and a rough game plan (eg, expansion in direction X followed by direction Y, war with nation Z). The person taking over for you may not stick to your plans, but at least they'll know the background to the game.

that is the same problem as me. i would need a backup player if I were to take over for DMOC, due to an extremely unreliable disk drive,

Sounds like a match made in heaven.

No, he asked me to sub for him. If no appropiate human sub can show up in the next hour (before I go to bed) I'm taking over, wouldn't be fair to stick him with an AI against his will. Elucidus didn't speak up so whoever.

Okay, fair enough. Go ahead then. :)

Yay, now all we need is for dmoc to make his move or pass the torch within the next twelve hours. :yup:

Otherwise I think there's some sort of "three strikes you're out!!!" concept out there that he gets replaced with an AI until billy can take over himself.

Alright - does billybones know your password or will Elucidus need to revert your civ to AI to let him log in?

Well now billybones just has to be able to log in once every twelve hours to keep the game going at a decent rate. :hammer:

Though to be honest at this point I wouldn't mind just making that civ an AI permanently just so this crap can get moving again.

impossible for me. if i could get a second player as a sub tho, it might work.

Go make your turn Billy :) if it will not suit to you we can give AI there, so we can play...

I'm covering for Dux, not DMOC. Dux is out of town for a week... I don't have DMOC's password.

Convert to AI until we have a reliable player.

Billybob, once every 12 hours isn't nessecary, but once every 24 hours is sort of required. (you'll double up turns by being last in line) We don't have a second person to join you so you have to decide whether you can handle 24 hour turns or not.

Regardless an AI should take over soon as DMOC's empire is skipping another turn. Maybe Elkad and Toch should just invade and wipe him out.
