Morning Three
When everyone gathered in the morning, there was
good news, and there was
bad news.
A few miles away and at least a few hundred meters up into the mountains, some light sleepers had spotted a fire intermittently throughout the night. It would be no one else but Ngoogol, and while it would be slow and arduous they knew what path to follow, the only path he could be on after all.
The bad news was a good order of magnitude worse though, in that another member of the party had been slain.
Sita Kalyanam was found with deep cuts all over her body, in broad spiral patterns.
It seemed that everyone’s thoughts on the dead would continue to be part of debate because there was also still the matter of deciding what to do with various useful items recovered.

Finally – there was a bit of
unexpected news, wouldn’t you have guessed it!
The High Priest of the Sun had apparently found a way to magically communicate with the party, bringing brief news from the kingdom they’d left (including that the Prince was alive and stable) and an interesting development.
“This guy, keeps popping back up, he’s not some sort of recurring NPC is he” a couple hushed voices murmured. “Nah, nothing like that. Let’s listen”
“We’ve developed another spell that could lend strength to you all from afar. We’d like to hope it could do so for all of you who are still alive. Here’s the thing – we want to make absolutely sure that the magic is going to work for the success of your quest and can’t be usurped by any impostors. To do so…may get a little complicated.”
