Yeah, I'm sure Final Fantasy will win it. The numbers are just too big.

Ya don't mess with with those Final Fantasy fans. there a loyal bunch with plenty to cheer for, art, action figures movies you name it, The product support is amazing. the civ series in contrast has less broad based apeal and attracts a more mature audience(overall IMO). I think Civ's players were less inclined to participate in Vs battles on the net, so its call to arms would have suffered not so much due volume of player support but actually the type of players who support it.

I've been on a few of the Game FAQs popular forums, and I don't think that it's the young people who are immature(I'm 14), but the stupid ones. I feel better now.

I hate to say it but even if the polls were accurate, civ would lose. Alot of the players of Civ here at the boards don't value it as their favorite game series of all time. I would personally vote for FF, with Zelda being a close second. A good display of proof of this is that there is such a different viewpoint of opinion on Civ 3 and 4. Usually likeing one tends to mean you didn't care for the other. Which means if you didn't like 3, you didn't play it during the time of its glory. And same with four.

In games like Zelda and FF everyone liked the "materia system" in 7 but while they played 7 still, alot of people also played the most current version in its glory. Same with Zelda. Also, FF and Zelda are at the top of the RPG genre of games. Civ hasn't dominated the genre of strategy in the same respect amongst strategy gamers. I think Romance of the 3 Kingdoms would best hit the top of the strategy list before civ. But thats my own opinion.

How so? I'm 34 and the Civ series wouldn't be my first choice.
