GameNES: Insert Credit

We thought they were dead. Instead, they were just getting started. My name is Colonel Rene Foulk, the leader of the Human resistance against the zombie invasion. With the help of an unlikely hero named John Gordon, we pushed them back. Then... a storm hit.

This huge lightning storm was like the one that brought the zombies out from under Earth. This storm had the same effect. Gone where the puny zombies we could destroy with ease. This was a full fledged invasion force, with huge amounts of Vehicles and air craft.

We could not stop them. Their flying fortresses pounded us every second of our lives. Soon, we were pushed back to our last stronghold in Berlin. There was when we met Alphano. Alphano and his group of elite soldiers crushed the zombies with relative ease. We pushed them back once more. However, that would be the last. Earth was a dead world. They would come again, and slaughter us all. We opted for a better route, to join Alphano, and his group called PAM (Planets Against Maxim). We have identified the zombie general as Maxim, a renegade scientist from Earth, who fled the planet with several others to a place where his work would be accepted.

The plan was clear. We had eliminated one prophet, the weakest one, the one of Order. Now, we had to eliminate the other four. It would not be easy. Alphano has decided we will strike their main military base, Sombre, a mystical planet that can destroy all that PAM has worked for. (Sombre=OTL Halo).

We must defeat them. It is the only hope of reclaiming, and rebuilding Earth.

Game Name: Zombie Chronicles II: Revenge
Game Type: First Person Shooter
Console(s): TBA
Development Status: 0/10
Description: After the death of Jabeden, the Prophet of Order, John Gordon and the Night Watchmen destroyed the remaining zombie pockets on Earth. More came, and soon, the armies of Earth were destroyed. Then, Alphano came. Alphano is the leader of PAM (Planets against Maxim). PAM helps Earth reclain their planet. John Gordon and Rene Foulk
then go with Alphano to Sombre, Maxim's ultimate weapon.

Wouldn't it be Zombie Chronicles: Invasion II. Because why would you name the sequel the same thing?

From VideoSpy magazine's latest edition:

NEWS LEAK FROM DENVER, COLORADO: FEATURE LISTING FROM Mad Skilz: Football

Tom Collins, VideoSpy

Our sources have revealed a leaked list coming directly from Neverending Games Inc's Denver studio showing some of the planned features for their latest game, including crossed out items that have been taken out of the game for one reason or another. We have been given exclusive access to the list. Features included are Commissioner mode, advanced trading, more computer trades, and other features. For a partial list, complete with descriptions, turn to page 7.

---

Commissioner mode: Choose a league, be it NFL, CFL, AFL, AFL, Premier League, or Serie A, and play as the commissioner. You will be in charge of advertising, scheduling, discipline, and making your league the most popular in the world. The mode features random events, including watching highlights of certain events and getting full reports, and deciding how much to fine, suspend, or deal with. Events include player's off-field scandals, match fixing, videotaping calls, and performance-enhancing drugs, or on-field events such as deliberate injury, rule breaking, and improper conduct. The league hinges on your decisions.

Advanced Trading: Advanced trading gives complete control over your team. You can trade future draft picks, not only the year you are in; conditional draft pick based on performance; money; participate in 3-way trades; and more. Computer teams will also partake in trades not solely revolving around draft picks. the AI will also offer more trades. In addition, the entire trade analysis has been changed from previous games. The calculations have changed to be as follows (simplified version): Player Overall + Position Importance (QB or LT much more important than P or LS, K more important that LMF) - [AGE-Average Age of Retirement for that position] (A 30 year old kicker will score much higher here than a 30 year old lineman) + Team Need (a 0-7 team with an 80 overall QB will want a 85 Overall QB more than a 5-2 team with an 80 overall QB; a team on a long losing streak wants a change more than a team on a winning streak; a team with a very strong defense but no offense will want a good QB/RB/WR a lot more than a team with a good offense [2006 Chicago Bears vs 2006 Indianapolis Colts]) = Number Grade shown to player. As well, Draft Picks weight will be based on draft class talent (2006 QBs WAY BETTER than 2007 QBs). The numbers do not need to be even for the trade to be accepted, but in the general vicinity. (No trading Payton Manning for Vinny Testaverde)

Scouting: Hire your scouts, and send them to watch games. If you are interested in drafting a player (full list given at start of season of draft-eligible players), you can pay a certain amount of money to watch them play in a regular game, hyped-up game (Michigan vs Ohio St.; added pressure), or bowl game, to see how they play under different circumstances.

Injuries: Get a full list of injured players before each game, no matter how minor (scrapes, cuts, bruised, flu, cold, broken collarbone, etc.), and decide who to play and who to sit. Probable, Questionable, Doubtful, or Out (X Weeks) will be shown, but they are just a guideline. A warning is that playing injured players may cause more severe injuries. As well, non-football injuries do occur, and are shown in the game (Nick Harper being stabbed in the knee by his wife and then being tackled by Ben Roethlisberger ON THAT KNEE).

Soccer Leagues: Play as any team in the top Leagues of every country that has one (the Main league competition column, too many to copy). Features relegation, at which point the game ends, Champions cup, FIFA World Cup, Internationals (losing players), as well as national cups and other tournaments.

Of the features we received, advanced trading sounds to be the most intriguing, fixing all the problems of EA Sports' Madden Franchise before the crash. Now trades have a real formula, and it will no longer be possible to automatically get the #1 draft pick every single year by trading 1st round pick for 1st round pick in week 17, with a 15-0 record to a 0-15 team.

I changed it, twice

Update will start this evening. I don't know exactly how it will be written. But it will be considerably longer than before.

Handholding

"Did you hear? Did you hear? Didja hear?" Aiko punctuated each end of the sentence with a jab at Kenta's left forearm, ignoring the fact that he had recently been vaccinated for influenza and had had a needle injected into his arm at that location.

"What is it?" he asked, wincing. She somehow poked very near the band-aid hidden under his very lawyerly sleeves. She was probably wrinkling it too.

"Zabriskie-san, that guy, he like, died or somethin'."

"I highly doubt that; I think Nagato-san would have learned of it; he's our PR guy, after all, and-"

"Never mind that, Zabriskie's not important." Kenta bit back an acidulous remark because he knew it was true. The Phoenix was not one of their problems. No, it was that outdated Takk. How in the world the Takk had managed to surpass them was a wonder, but he knew that Nagato must have been feeling the heat.

"I know that. In fact, I think you're probably referring to the fact that-"

"So anyway, Hayden Games has just bought up Zabriskie's quaint company! What do you think about that?"

I already knew that, he thought, and his temples started pounding. Talking to her was annoying around half of the time and downright infuriating the other half.

"Well," he said, "that makes them richer then us. When they absorbed the company their income rose dramatically."

-----

They searched the news for Hayden's big office moving. They expected a huge skyscraper, as was the custom in Japan. They waited for word of mouth, but other than the name change, nothing significant happened.

But one day a letter arrived, addressed to Kenta, who was sure that he wasn't a secretary. He knew he wasn't a secretary. So why did he find himself - well, as long as he was getting paid.

The letter said that nothing was going to change. Awesome.

-----

A few days later...

"Kentaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-kun!" Aiko's voice was loud, which was absolutely not needed because by now Kenta had his own desk near Aiko's in her atrociously colored private office. He wished he could partition it, or at least make his half of the room less garishly pink, but alas she would not budge.

For the forty-second time that day, he wondered what he was doing, where he was going in life, how he had found himself in this position, how the law firm was doing without him, and whether or not his eventual kids would be proud of him in this stage of his life. He did all of this in the span of 1.4 seconds.

"What is it?"

"I've just had the greatest idea, like, ever!"

"I'm waiting."

"Ehhhhh?" she asked, incredulous. "You're not amazed at my great idea?"

"I can't offer an opinion, you see, without knowing what this idea is."

"It's a great one!"

"I can see that."

"We're going to start a handheld console with Hayden Ga - no, I'm sorry, Hayden Entertainment!"

She beamed, leaned back in her chair, and waited for the subsequent applause. Kenta dryly noticed how the green ribbons in her hair didn't match the yellow ribbon tied on the front of her blouse and ruined the effect she was hoping to achieve.

"Do what you want," he said, and turned back to his work.

"I will!" she huffed, and worked out the details.

-----

Eventually, after long deliberations and many voice-conferences, the details were worked out. This was going to be the best handheld ever. The specifications would probably knock some of the old consoles out of the water because it was that good.

It was going to come with the works: a beautiful screen, huge internal memory feature with external memory optional, just in case anybody wanted to game a lot, compatibility with both the Light Complex and the Phoenix, an mp3 player, an Internet browser, Internet support (obviously), and all this other junk that Aiko Sakurada and Isaac Hayden lovingly put into this handheld.

In short Aiko Sakurada could not wait to get her hands on one, which meant that it was going to be incredibly awesome.

Kenta marked up the budget report with a sigh.

Description:
The story begins on the planet of Arclow where a strange group attacked and decimated the entire planet, save for a small group who survived by escaping on board the ASV Shepherd's Pie. The Shepherd's Pie is damaged - ironically - by the minced up remains of one of the combat craft (ACV MooMoo) and manages to lose its bearings in the chaos.
The player is now tasked with taking the Shepherd's Pie little runabout to find parts to help the isolated Pie out - sparking off a massive set of adventures - and that Arclow may not be all there is in the universe...
This game aims to create a highly open-ended RPG with significant amounts of humour and a gigantic storyline. The graphical engine does not need to be top-notch and most focus and development should go to creating this world.

Game of the Update:

GENOA - Hayden Games: For innovations in both technology and art. The AI is incredible and the game play matches it. Artistically it is one of the best games yet released on the Light Complex. This is a true gem to brighten the spring drought. (+Reputation, + Employee Artistic/Programming)

Nations of Gamers:

Europe:

With the success of the Takk by a Swedish company and many smaller European game developers coming out of the woodwork. The general gaming boom seems to be stronger here than even America or Japan.

The Takk officially is launched in the last of the European countries. Completing goal by Digi Forge to control the Euro market. The final Launch was on March 12th in Romania, Turkey and Ukraine.

Asia:

Tremendous success of the Light Complex continues to spread throughout Japan and South Korea. Demand still high and supplies so low. Word of a new handheld fill the air and the hype of this new gaming gadget is so high it might be flammable.

A tie in Anime for the video game Gladius has been announced. With commercials shown throughout Japan and the release date set to begin the mini series prior to and leading up to the release of the game in Japan. Hype for this game is growing at such an early stage. (+Reputation Celestial Games)

Spoiler Official Gladius Anime Commercial by Strategos :
Throughout the clip, a Gregorian chant can be heard in the background, swelling and becoming softer to fit the mood. The camera shows a night sky, with the Japanese characters “Celestial Games.” These words fade out, replaced by the characters “Madhouse.” This word also fades, leaving only the night sky. The camera pans downward, revealing a city.

Narrator: What is a peaceful city for some, is a war zone for others.

As the narrator speaks, the camera continues zooming inward, until it focuses on the outside of a gothic style church, light gently shining from the inside through their stain glass windows. A man opens the doors from the inside, walking out. Looking around, he materializes a sword in either hand. The camera shifts, showing a pack of what looks to be a cross between lizards and wild dogs running, as they jump at the man, the camera moves upward, focusing on the face of a statue of Mary that is outside the doors of the Church. From her face streams what looks like tears of blood.

The scene shifts again, showing a girl, about ten years old, wearing shorts only a little longer than bikini-bottoms and a pink sleeveless shirt with a broken heart on it running, her arms stretched out behind her. The camera shifts, showing a silhouette of her jumping on someone about twice to three times her size, her arms going to his head causing stylized blood arcing upward from what appears to be the eye region.

The scene shifts yet again, showing three men circling around the same man from the first scene, the one who had been in front of the church. This time, the man’s back is against a brick wall. The camera shows a view from the point-of-view of the “church” man. Each of his opponents has a blood-red tattoo that starts to glow, the one on the far left has a tattoo on the right side of his face, the middle one on his left hand which you can see as he hefts a mace, and the one on the right around his neck, like a necklace. As they charge, the camera switches again to the “church” man who materializes a sword in either hand as he gives a slight smile. The camera drifts upward, showing on the brick wall the characters “Gladius” in graffiti style writing, with a stylized sword underneath with the characters “The Animation” written on it. Suddenly, blood shoots upward, and as it drips down, it forms into the characters “September 2009.”

A general lack of the classical JRPGs is seen with disapproval by many Japanese gamers. Who crave this type of game for their Light Complex console.

Americas:

In the United States the Phoenix begins selling more consoles post Holiday due to release of more exclusives that barely missed the key Christmas sale date. This brings them to a closer third place than ever. Drawing near the other consoles. The race could change drastically if enough of the top tier games favor one console over the other.

South America sees massive launch parties for the Phoenix and Takk. Brazil fosters a growing gamer population. Launch numbers in Brazil reach over 100,000 Takk’s. A new record for game console launch numbers in Brazil. The people are reportedly happy with the purchases they made. Saying gaming is fun.

Famous guitarist/singer Zakk Wylde releases a new single with his band Black Label Society titled “From the Ashes, Rises the Phoenix” about his addiction to the game console. It is being used in Phoenix advertisements world wide as the de facto song of the console. Followed by the slogan “Game. Or. Else”. Proving to be popular.

The Big Slump:

Even with console sales still coming in the post Holiday sales slump sets in. Known as the yearly drought of gaming the sales start to trickle and lack of sales reduces the income of all the studios. (-$8,000 Everyone)

Mod Stuff:

Is this any better? Do able?

Stats coming later, maybe not right away.

Takk 6 Million Units

This update fills me with joy :D

I like this style of things, it seems to provide everything we need, if not more!

Thank You.

This hurts.

Don't worry you still have enough to continue your game.

I still like the Expo idea better. so can you do them once in a while, when u have time?

The Expo idea won't work because the expo conferences and such would need to be written by the big three. You guys are welcome to write your own console specific expos. Smaller ones. If you like.

Awesome update! I like the style.

Thanks!
