Games you want Sequels to

that's good........VERY GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

No, the movie was enough... ;)

A proper Sim City 5, would be nice.

Which makes me think that a modern Crimson Skies would be great too.

And just to counter Kan's XWing...

8. TIE-Fighter!

I meant some sort of sequel to the series as a whole. TIE Fighter was my favourite, and would love it if they made a direct sequel to it too :D

Skies of Arcadia. For the love of god.

Can't believe I never thought of that one. This report gives a little hope, but I think a Skies of Arcadia sequel has been rumoured for years.

Somebody earlier mentioned Deus Ex; that game has received a few sequels and I believe one is in the works.

More from me:

The Legend of Ganondorf
Toad's Adventure
Stubbs the Zombie in Heaven without a Pulse
Rome: Resident Evil
Rome: Grand Theft Auto
Donkey Kong Country 4
Rayman 4

And there was one which I forgot.

Yeah, but they instead made Rayman Raving Rabbids and Rayman Raving Rabbids 2.

So far, Rayman's best game has been on the Dreamcast.

Skies of Arcadia is a rare example of a game that really could use a sequel. Haven't played it in forever, but the concept was pretty cool, and there's definitely room to add on to the world.

Personally, I would love to see a new Ogre Battle game. I think the OB saga started at episode 7 or so, and there's only been one true sequel, plus a couple spin-offs. The only danger is that it may end up another Tactics Ogre, which I feel is inferior to the original's game system.

Pokemon G/S/C. Not really a sequel but a remake without only better graphics and barely anything changed.

Minesweeper

They just came out with one in 2007. IMHO it's no better for it.

Hmm, I'm not a big fan of sequels - in my experience they usually are worse than the original. I probably would like sequels to:

*Age of Empires. AoE II is still fine, but the original is showing its age (pun not intended). There's many improvements that could be made, and not just graphical.

*Sim Copter. Again it could use both graphical and other improvements (with stability by far coming first in this case).

I'm sure there's a whole bunch of other really old games that would make for swell sequel material.

Games that I've been dissatisfied with sequels:

*Civilization III. It's very difficult to improve on near-perfection, and CivIV didn't even come close.

(yes I know this may be opening a can of worms)

*Railroad Tycoon II. It had so much content by the end that the newer versions entirely pale in comparison.

Games where I've been satisfied with the sequels overall but have found them lacking something awesome from the previous game:

*Age of Empires II. The third version lacks the totally awesome single-player historical campaigns. The fictional ones have 0.019% of the awesomeness. I guess the second expansion of AoE3 has historical campaigns but that's too far in...the first one has to has some. I don't care if they add more later, but don't exclude them from the first release.

*Battlefield 1942. Its successors don't have single-player campaigns.

The gamerankings average for Civ3 is 89%. That doesn't sound like near-perfection to me. Even Age of Empires II has a higher average (actually, a higher average than all the Civ games except Civ4. Same with World of Warcraft, Shadow of the Colossus, Super Mario Sunshine, Rome: Total War, Call of Duty, Alpha Centauri, etc.)
