It's not my vote, but I have to wonder: if the Swedish Museum were some weird one-off district that did the same thing it does now, instead of an improvement, would people like it more? Probably, because perception is everything.

2. Arabia - Madrasa [22]
3. Australia - Outback Station [21]
6. Canada - Ice Hockey Rink [6]
7. China - Great Wall [9](12-3) Great Wall? More like "pretty good" wall if you ask me. I do agree that they're probably better than people make them out to be sometimes, but they're all decent at this point.
8. Cree - Mekewap [20]
9. Dutch - Polder [12]
10. Egypt - Sphinx [13]

29. Mapuche - Chemamull [22]
30. Mongolia - Ordu [6]
33. Ottomans - Grand Bazaar [8]
34. Persia - Pairidaeza [26] (25+1) I should play with this more often because this kind of improvement is right up my alley, but I don't really like the rest of Persia's skill set.

24. Korea - Seowon [16]
25. Macedon - Basilikoi Paides [20]
26. Mali - Suguba [24] - (23 + 1) Really fun, want to build them in every city and makes the design of Mali shine like gold!

41. Spain - Mission [22]
42. Sumeria - Ziggurat [26]
43. Sweden - Open-Air Museum [12] (15 - 3) I do not like these one per city improvements and this one has me trying to build cities on certain terrain regardless of the right build location. I guess that's fun once.
45. Zulu - Ikanda [11]

2. Arabia - Madrasa [22]
3. Australia - Outback Station [22] (21 + 1) Makes use of otherwise redundant Desert, and has very overpowered yields in the late game.

Hockey rink: unlocked in industrial era and receiving ultimate bonuses even later, one per city building useful mainly for tundra. I also dislike how the entire Canadian civ is built around stereotypes.

Ordu: +1 speed to all cavalry is tacrically very useful.

Voted late last night so gonna vote a bit earlier today (EST).

2. Arabia - Madrasa [22]
3. Australia - Outback Station [23]
7. China - Great Wall [9]
8. Cree - Mekewap [20]
9. Dutch - Polder [12]
10. Egypt - Sphinx [13]
11. England - Royal Navy Dockyard [19] (18 + 1). Gonna give this a bump. Coastal cities with a good port and a decent amount of land are the best cities right now, and it's all thanks to the versatility that Harbors offer. Half price alone pushes it up. Additional adjacency yields and a stronger military for conquest is a plus.
14. Germany - Hansa [26]
15. Greece - Acropolis [27]
18. Inca - Terrace Farm [23]
20. Indonesia - Kampung [22]
22. Khmer - Prasat [17]
23. Kongo - Mbanza [5]
24. Korea - Seowon [17]
25. Macedon - Basilikoi Paides [20]
26. Mali - Suguba [24]
27. Maori - Marae [26]
29. Mapuche - Chemamull [22]
30. Mongolia - Ordu [3] (6 - 3) While decent, it's relatively one-dimensional and doesn't have as big as an impact as the rest of the items on this list
33. Ottomans - Grand Bazaar [9]
34. Persia - Pairidaeza [26]
35. Phoenicia - Cothon [29]
36. Poland - Sukiennice [21]
37. Rome - Bath [21]

27. Maori - Marae [26]
29. Mapuche - Chemamull [22]
30. Mongolia - Ordu [4]
33. Ottomans - Grand Bazaar [5] (8-3) Not as impactful as I hoped it would be in my Ottoman games.
34. Persia - Pairidaeza [26]
35. Phoenicia - Cothon [29]
36. Poland - Sukiennice [21]
37. Rome - Bath [21]
38. Russia - Lavra [30]
41. Spain - Mission [22]
42. Sumeria - Ziggurat [26]
43. Sweden - Open-Air Museum [13] (12+1) This is an easy +8 or +10 Culture/Tourism per city for the price of a builder charge! Goes great with the rest of Sweden's kit. This really adds up when you go wide. If you have it in 20 cities across all terrains, that's 200 culture/tourism from this improvement alone!

Hey guys

Ordu should be at 4 because I upvoted it to 7 before last downvote

Grand Bazaar should be 5 because it was 8 before downvote

2. Arabia - Madrasa [22]
3. Australia - Outback Station [23]
7. China - Great Wall [9]
8. Cree - Mekewap [21] (20+1) As already discussed, these are very good tile improvements that are easy to take advantage of and are available early in the game. That said, I'm just voting for it to help cancel out the inevitable downvote coming it's way from the exact same guy here shortly.
9. Dutch - Polder [9] (12-3) Are these nice? Sure. Are they pretty? Sure. Of all the improvements left on the list, those, these are far and away the hardest to actually find a location where they can be built. Maybe you'll get lucky... but chances are you won't. "But I play exclusively on lake heavy maps!" Fair enough, but I can cook the map settings to make a lot of these other improvements a lot better too.

I firmly believe the final standings should roughly go: good buildings < good/great tile improvements & non-primary yield districts < primary yield districts. That's my opinion, and that's what my votes reflect and I'm sticking to them. Am I trying to eliminate the Mekewap early? Nope. I'm trying to position it where I feel it belongs as the game approaches its end. Why? Because inevitably as these polls have played out, the early strong positioned items get stronger and the weak ones get picked off (I know that's the idea of the contest, but there's a lot of perception bias that plays into it.) If some sleeper votes on something left it in a weak position going into the top 10, it gets picked off by votes that are acting either on perception or a desire to hurry up the finale.

Right now, the Mekewap is poised to finish ahead of monsters like the Seowon. Last time, it finished ahead of the Outback Station which was hotly contested. I think the Outback Station is better, as do I feel the same about the Polder. You're free to disagree and vote as such. However, there's just no way in my mind that the Mekewap finishes ahead of things like the Seowon, or that the Polder finishes behind things like the Ikanda, Museum, Bath, Mission, Sphinx, or Great Wall. Of all remaining tile improvements save the Kampung, the Polder has the least opportunity cost. It barely competes against anything else for tile space (fishing boats maybe, fisheries no way, harbors possibly but improbably, and like 3 or 4 wonders). Meanwhile other improvements like the Mekewap compete against farm adjacency, against mine>IZ adjacency, against woods/rainforest + lumbermills, against CS UIs and against every land district and wonder in the game (minus Machu Picchu). The Polder can also be enhanced by building a harbor+lighthouse, and by Auckland if you're lucky. It takes World Wonders, and then only a select few and those for very particular (and generally bad) environments, to further improve tiles underneath a Mekewap.

P.S. Polders aren't exclusive to lakes.

This bed of tulips will receive an upvote from me, but one upvote only. Listen to my story, weary traveler, and learn why. Once I too thought of Wilhemina as a kindly plump woman, no more wicked than a person who wields no weapon fiercer than an umbrella can be. But I did not know. I did not see. It was not until I spawned as the Dutch on a desiccated, twisted world, bereft of resources and with ill-fated terrain of isthmuses and islands that I realized the horrible truth. For while mighty Nubia and Macedon and China clashed over the lands that were fertile and abundant with iron and niter, the Dutch bided their time. In their swampy, frozen, northern wastelands they bided their time.

For now that this dark queen can build flood barriers at half price her troglodyte civilization may sit in dark caves, building industry and filling the clouds with choking poison in a manner that would cause Saruman to shudder. As the glowing civilizations of the world build wonder and majesty and glorious armies fought for prosperity the dutch waited while wires sparked and steam stacks belched. And the world got warmer. And warmer. A flower bed here. Another there. Not many, no, not many. Their time had not come yet. But it would. It did. Sooner than it ever should have. Before most in the world knew what coal was, the Dutch had burned enough to start the floods.

By the time the tides began to rise it was too late. But a scant few cities were protected, even in the heart of the Netherlands, Wilhemina cackled in glee as her own goblin race fled the angry sea, screeched with laughter as wonders and great works were dragged to the depths, and looked with greedy eyes upon the watery graves on her own people.
Their bodies mixed with the ocean deeps, their souls blossomed in colorful blooms. More sea was claimed for the polders. And then the march began.

There was no saving mighty Nubia, her cities were falling and drenched. There was no wall that could hold back the tides for China. Macedon found her horses without dry land to trod on. One by one they fell. To the advancing orange tide with the gardeners in tow, waiting to plant their hideous flowers where wonders and districts once stood. For Wilhemina is just her name on the surface. From below she came. To below she will return. And she will drag the rest of us to her watery, flower-covered hell thanks to the Polder.

p.s. Seriously flood the world as Wilhemina and build Polders on the
sunken wonders the AI beat you to it's very cathartic.

24. Korea - Seowon [14]=17-3 It's bewildering that this thing is still unironically believed to be a "monster" despite the latest patch. The regular campus is now the easiest district to gain high adjacency bonus right off the bat due to its numerous bonuses just by being next to terrain features. It is so easy to gain a +3 or +4 on the regular campus, compared to a district who is capped at 4, restricted in placement and can only scale downward. Try to play on Primordial where mountains and fissures are plentiful and you will wish you can pay the full price for a campus than the seowon.

9. Dutch - Polder [9] (8+1) For the story-telling by @Icicle. And these probably take the cake for most potential yields per tile once light house and shipyards are online.
10. Egypt - Sphinx [10] (13-3) These just never clicked for me. They’re like a chateau, but weirder. And I can never remember what they’re supposed to give.

22. Khmer - Prasat [18] = 17 + 1 Gotta give it at least one vote. Reliquaries strategy does work. Of course you have to get a religion. Just hope you don't start next to someone dangerous. Otherwise this isn't that hard to use. Just move it so they don't die too close to your borders. Missionaries are cheap, better than using Apostles and building an expensive wonder.

Meanwhile other improvements like the Mekewap compete against farm adjacency, against mine>IZ adjacency, against woods/rainforest + lumbermills, against CS UIs and against every land district and wonder in the game (minus Machu Picchu)
No, no, no.
compete against farm adjacency - FALSE
in fact the biggest nonsense I have ever read in this thread.

Farm adjecencies for triangles comes at Feudalism. Mekewap get +1 production and housing with Civil Service, so very early, the same tier as Feudalism. BONUS INFO Mekawp get the first production and housing boost before polder and outback stations are unlocked! So let us check what we can get:
Any case farm triangle: 3 times farm = +3 food, additional 3 for adjecencies, so +6 in total. And 1,5 housing.
Cree case, CS instead of Feudalism:
3 resources farm triangle makes no sense, as you will want place 3 Mekewap around making the scenario below tripled
2 resources possible farm "triangle": 2 farms and Mekewap = +2 food farms, +1 food Mekewap, total +3 food. BUT +2 production, +3 housing (!!!) AND Mekewap can be placed on hills, farm early cannot. AND it can be placed in line, not necessairly in triangle. This is trading 3 food for 2 production and double housing and much more flexibility. Because the way Cree works (minimum +8 food from trafe routes in medieval, often more), you don't feel the loss of 3 food, but what is crucial for Cree strategy, you get crazy more housing and production And it does not require triangles of flat terrain.
1 resource - similarly to above, but you want to place Mekewap so it touches also other resource, even stone, deer, whatever
no resources flat triangle - why would anybody build farm triangle instead of district triangle there, especially Cree? Anyway, no resources, no Mekewap needed so no competition.
In my understanding, competition is where you have doubts whether place one improvement or the other. Please my beloved crusader explain me, WHERE is the competion between farm triangles and Mekewap? Either there is no competion (no resources) because you don't place Mekewap, either there is no competition, because Mekewap eats for breakfast any farm triangle with resources on triangle. If you ever played, Cree, you would know.
compete against mine>-IZ adjecency FALSE
another nonsense. IZ are built for aqueduct+dam+strategic resources adjecencies, not for mines adjecencies. Quarries are also +1 for IZ, but this case you simply build IZ and Mekewap the other side. The very specific case of minor value easy to overcome
compete against CS UIs MOSTLY FALSE
Most of CS UIs are trash. moai are sometimes good on prmordial map and Cahokia is probably the best one. But Cahokia mounds get adjecency from districts, Mekewap from resources. No competition between these two. Cahokia competes with Parideaza, golf, mission, but definitely not with Mekewap
compete against any land districts MOSTLY FALSE
You want districts in clusters. You dont get districts clusters between resources and luxuries cannot be harvested. You place districts one side, Mekewap between resources. Later as Mekewap are getting stronger you may probably replace some tiles improvements - probably farms, but hey, you need 5 (campus, theatre, commerce, IZ/holy site, maybe aqueduct), the most 6 land districts per city. This is less than tiles within first cultural ring and you have 2 bigger rings for your disposal.
compete against wonder in the game SITUATIONAL
Sincerely, how many wonders you build especially early game on deity? Though I understand it may be a problem on Chieftain.

You really need to understand that Cree work other way than most civs. For example in terms that the last thing you should worry about is farm and especially farm triangles. Both unique abilities + Mekewap make Poundmaker's main concern is not food, but housing. Extreme internal routes make Cree reach 10 pop in any city earlier than any other civ (unlike Inca, where extremely fast growing cities are limited to mountainous areas), so can lock districts earlier for cheaper cost, competeing with Germany, but unlike Germany, they get free tiles and are far richer to buy any tile for district. This crazy growth would be stopped very early if not Mekewaps. Mekewap give crazy amount of housing very early on, and crazy strong production and some gold. This ALL BEFORE for example polder is even unlocked in its basic form!

Mekewap finished 3rd last time because simply it is THAT strong. It is so strong, that received a nerf in GS, so cannot be built on floodplains. But still downvoting it before the stage of final top10 is a madman idea.

Kampung, Mekewap, Lavra, Suguba, Basilikoi paides, Acropolis should be in top6, and no crusade would change this. These 6 simply kills all the competition here

2. Arabia - Madrasa [22]
3. Australia - Outback Station [23]
7. China - Great Wall [9]
8. Cree - Mekewap [20] 19+1 no more comments. One guy, 6 times in a row downvotes this. We should really change the rules next thread to ignore such voting
9. Dutch - Polder [3] 6-3 available later than any other UI, becaomes strong in atomic (!!!!) era, cannot be placed in every city
