Gator02 - Learning to Walk

I would imagine that stacking Greebley, BF, myself and possibly another warmonger would be a very interesting SGOTM for c4. If SGOTM ever makes it to c4. Anyway, enough rambling for now.
Making a team already? :p

Check this out.

It is the announcement of the opening of the SGOTM for Civ IV. I guess it is almost time to get a team together.

Almost done, we're at nearly 60% land. Is it better to culture bomb Beijing or create a Great Artist?

Bede broke Mao’s back. No real threat from him during my set. I reduced Mao to 3 cities and had started to reposition ships and troops to go after Mansa, but that was not necessary. At the start of 1635AD we were at 63.85% before culture bombing Beijing, which immediately expanded and pushed us up to 67.45%. Got the Domination video at the start of the next turn. We scored 56,019.

Here is the save at the end of 1635AD.

Nice.

Thanks for having me along. It was a great ride...And thanks to Brad and Bezhukov for providing the insight and commentary.

Emperor sounds good. We should use the new patch also. Any thoughts on a tribe and map?

I'd like to wait for Brad to get back before we kick off, but that doesn't stop us from starting up some discussion.

My vacation and work has put me behind in my xOTMs. I had a nice start in GOTM53 but never had time to finish it. Now I've got a week to start and finish COTM23. So I'm in no hurry.

Is there any interest here in keeping this group together as a SGOTM team for cIV?

Civ 4 SGOTM 01 sign thread is up here.

Variant is Fast Dominiation or Diplo victory. Winner is determined by fastest date and there are locked alliances. We will be playing Hapshepsut of Egypt and our arch enemy will be The Incas.

Hey Guys, Is it ok if I throw in with you for SGOTM?
I have played with Bede and I believe that I have played with Gator before?

If we haven't played together we have definately lurked each others games before. I'd welcome you onto the SGOTM team. leif, Bede and myself are in. Brad is still away but I have heard from him, I'm unsure about whether he will be back in time but I'll ask Alan to reserve a tenative spot for him.

I'm only waiting to hear back from Bez at this point.

Good luck guys, same as last year: sun comes out, and Civ loses priority. I may still lurk here and there, but won't be playing. Y'all will do fine without me, I have little doubt - just listen to Brad and marvel at Bede's artistry. Good luck! :goodjob:

Hope to see you around Bez, you have some great ideas and are a better player than I. Don't lose too much interest... :mischief: ;) :D

With both SGOTM getting ready to kick off I think I'll wait on starting our next adventure. That will also give Brad time to get back.
