Hooray, he gets it! GO dbkblk!
Ctrl+a, abandon city. You can either destroy buildings or abandon city.In this mod i can destroy city in my empire? If i can - how? I have wrong-placed and wont destroy it like in civ3.
Uh, I very seldom do it but I thought we removed gold from destroying buildings a long time ago as it was kind of cheatingI have to say, I use Cntl-A all the time when I take a city.
Well 1st, I see if its on my planned city dot map.
2nd if it has any important mods ie Great Generals x < 2, Wonders *Bah!!!*, Holy Cities, *Hmm, really keep nearly ALL*.
If not, its Cntl-A and it goes down the build list Alphabetically.
Great way to make extra gold from your conquests, as you get 20% of the build cost returned to you as gold, no build cost = Free cash flow for ME!!!!!!
Didn't realize about the non diplomatic penalty, it is a cheat and should be removed. Unless you have > 50% of Culture, then its your own city, and penalties SHOULDN'T APPLY.
Yeah I noticed the AI is pretty weak in that area. When I am preparing to take over another civ I should switch to Warrior Caste (or Vassalage or Volunteer Army depending on civic availability) and have every city crank out units like mad, and with that army I can just take over an entire civ (and probably the world, if it weren't for managing revolutions haha). Usually they just have units spread out, so it's easy to mow them down. And to top it all off I have gunpowder units while others still have Macemen. From my POV, I'm always at the top of the ladder (not using High to Low). I've noticed the AI is somewhat resistant in war and manage to keep up in research and military (if it has enough cities).
The main problems to me are that AI wars don't progress (I would like to see some AI steamrolled, but not by me) and that AI isn't a real military threat to me (good at defence but poor at offense). I also think the score calculation should be rewritten to reflect military, buildings and research more than contacts and land discovery. I haven't look at it yet.
Maybe some, but I think a lot of North-American nations would fit other civics much better. I think the starting civics are supposed to be somewhat lackluster to encourage players to move on from them, while the rest of the civics are supposed to be balanced for various strategies. My understanding has been that the starting civics represent organizing structures of very small civilizations that haven't yet needed to develop more complicated organization. It doesn't make sense for later civs to use them. And unless you use very euro-centric definitions for civics like republic and monarchy, they actually cover many civs very well, including North American ones.
I suppose you're right on that. But I'd still like there to be atleast some carrot in the early civics.
Oh hey, I forgot to mention, the new Virtual civic is cool, but why the 20% culture bonus? Also, wonder Independence Hall unlocks it (with all other legislative civics)... and this occurs during the time the telegraph is invented, so virtual voting with advanced computers isn't technically possible (speaking historically).
Love the improvements!
Where can I change the font size for city names and builds on the main map?
They've become a tad smaller than I'd like (or maybe the font has become too thin, I'm not sure)
GColor .BG = GColor( 92, 138, 121, 255) : GFC_Control_Color; //Set for dynamic color change
