General Knowledge Quiz

New Zealand is right, that is in common knowledge, but brief investigations showed that the whole thing is more messy: for example republic of Corsica allowed women to vote in it's brief existence, and so on.

Finland was probably though the first country to make both genders equal in this matter, since in New Zealand women weren't allowed to be candidates.

Go ahead Olav, ask the next one!

Ah, I have always thought New Zealand was a good nr. 2 behind Finland. :)

Three new questions! Who (country) built this, when was it built and what was it called?

I have some idea what it is and where you got the idea to ask this, but the rules won't allow me to answer.

I was expecting you to get this one Steph. ;) You are correct on all accounts. I don't know the Russian name for it. By the way, was this tank part of a question in the general history quiz? I think I have seen this tank somewhere here on CFC before...

The number of letters in each word corrasponds to each digit in pi.

open floor if i'm right

Open floor? Lets pretend it is. Two questions:

On mainland Africa, what nation(s) do only have one neighbour?

What nation(s) got the most neighbours in the world, and how many? Lots of street cred if you can name the neighbours!

Sethetho, as it is completely surrounded by south africa and marocco if you don't see the western sahara as a country. Gambia is completely surrounded by senegal (that's it i think)

Russia has the msot neighbours I think: Norway, Finland, estonia, Poland (i'm counting in Kalininengrad :D) Lithuania, letland (what is the english term again for the last of these baltic states?), Belarussia, Ukraine, Goergia, (south osetia and abchasia :mischief:), Kasakstan, Mongolia, China and Aserbidjan.
That's it i think.

EDIT: I gave my answer, only to see Olav offline in the minute therafter. ;)

Gambia is correct! Sethetho I have never heard of. :p

Russia is correct! However I think they have 14 neighbours (you have 13). And there's one more nation with 14 neighbours. :mischief:

I dont remember, however im not sure if its connected to Russia.

North Korea borders Russia doesn't it?

edit: Olav: there is? Hmm..

Forgot to mention: Western Sahara borders both Morocco and Mauritania.

I didn't count Abkazhia and South Ossetia. North Korea was the last country I was looking for. And Letland(?) - I guess you mean Latvia, philippe?

Ok, the first one of you two who gets the other country with 14 neighbours gets the next question! :)

Edit: Sethotho = Lesotho, right philippe? ;)

ok, ok. Lesotho

I missed a neighbouring nation of Russia? :hmm:
North-Korea? (thank you Sneerk :D ) (i thought NK solely bordered China.

I dont remember, however im not sure if its connected to Russia.

Oh the other one is CHina then: let me try to guess their neighbours: Mongolia, Russia, North korea, India, nepal, bhutan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Vietnam, myanmar, and loas, i think th two others are two -stans, hmm tadjiki and kirgizistan?

Ah yes, Latvia. That's the one. :)

I gues I get the next question then? :mischief:

I have to get going so here is my question:
What is the world's deadliest conflict since world war II?

Yeah, China's the other with 14 neighbours! The missing nation in your list is Afghanistan.

Over to you, philippe!
