General Knowledge Quiz

Man, talk about a twisted genealogy tree :crazyeye:

The answer was relatively easy to find, but I searched for it, so it doesn't count.

I thought of that too, but what if Charles is King before? On the other hand you can't say Charles because it's at the moment unknown if he'll be king any day. It 's got to be Diana's ancestor.

Edit: On second thought, Charles isnät "former monarch", but potential future monarch, so it might still work! Don't know enough English nuances to say if you can say "former" to mean something that will in the future have been former.

Yeah it's the "former" thing that's tripping me up! I don't get how a future monarch can be the first descendent of a former monarch :crazyeye: But I guess that's what makes the question difficult...

Well, it just means that a long time ago, a monarch had no direct heir to his thrown... But William is a descendant or this monarch (from his mother side), and if he becomes king he'll be the first descendant of this monarch to reign.

Just a guess, but what about Richard the Lionhearted (of Robin Hood fame)? I remember reading somewhere that his brother Prince John assumed the throne after his death.

Think illegitimate sons of a former monarch, of whom the bloodline goes down to Diana, and to the two princes.

Ha ha, very funny Perf...

I woulda said Charles I, but his son actually did sit on the throne. James II?

Feels bit odd to ask a question since the previous one was served to me on silver platter, so I'll make it easy one:

Which country was the first one to let women vote?

Hmmm, I was sure it was Finland... Is it Australia? New Zealand?
