General Turn Discussion

I have faith in the plan being the best plan we have for expansion. My only problem with it (and it isn't really a problem, only a realization) is that we are going to have to be very careful with our first 2 warriors. If I had managed to post before we sent W2 ff exploring I would have pointed out the value of that warrior is worth more than 15 hammers to us over the course of the game, so we should have sent it straight to the copper city site and fort it on the hill to gain the fortification bonus and not scouted at all except when we built a few warriors out of the copper city.

I think we should move the warrior to the plains/forest tile.

It would be safe there (2.34, even before fortifying, as opposed to 1.8), plus it will give us one more visibility.

Memphus has already played the turn, we just have to wait for the update or login to the game...

@krill my plan has a warrior pop out before settler #2 so he can be mp. that let's warrior #1 go bananas.

Yeah, but my point is that if we lost W2 (like if the lion had eaten him) then we would have had to either pull W1 back to guard S1 (as I posted about a week ago) so we couldn't scout, or we would have had to get W3 sooner, thus delaying all of the future workers and settlers from teh capital.

Something I meant to ask you, though: what turn do you finish W3 in the cap? I've found a couple of variations on the theme, but I'm not sure which one you did in the save you posted earlier on in the week.

No one has answered my question. Should we put the polls up for the Diamyo?

I think we're ready to go remake20. Everyone's been given a chance to speak.

I think our next tech should be pottery, a granary in the copper city is quite tempting if we are willing to build a few axes without a barracks first and train them on barbs

it doesn't matter to me.... :)

please cast your ballots we have 2 turns to decide.

oh btw this is interesting:

Haha. Ugh, north or south...I'd tend to sugest south for W1, W3 can scout out the east of the capital before returning for S3.

I still hold that both warriors should heal, as their loss would adversely affect our settlement plans.

I agree but if we go SW then we hit mountains and are forced to go S on the next turn.

If we go NE we might be able to get by the ridge.... but you are right that warriour (out on turn 33) can explore alot to hte NE which is a hgue advantage of getting him out!

1 warrior is full health.

the other is at 1.4 :stength:. if he stops he can't protect the settler.

Once city #2 is founded he can heal to full :strength: before proceeding.

With copper/ivory/cow/sugar in the SE...do we still want city #2 in those hills?

If there was a food resource we could hook up immediately, I'd agree with you that it looks attractive, as it is though I'm not sure that we can get AH fast enough to make it as productive as the western copper city. Considering your point though, moving W1 north west does make alot of sense...

yes...because the travel time is much greater to get to the SE.

also by delaying we will reveal more of the FoW thus being able to optimally place the cities in the east.

The West city has a purpose:

:hammers:

and then until the capital is ready to take over, it will produce 100% of our units.

City 3 & 4 should be :commerce: cities, then 5 back to :hammers: again

okey dokey...

I vote W1 goes NW(7)
