The problem is 40-70% of the people(depending on the election) have convinced themselves their vote doesn't matter so they remain ignorant of politics. Then they wonder why the same people they hate keep getting elected.
In the presidential election, the majority of votes don't matter at all.
Just look at a map of the amount of money spent in each state. Ridiculous
