Germany halts Tom Cruise's Hitler film

So he was barred from making the movie because of his religion?

Well in that case Germany is right. These scientologists are causing all sorts of problems. Something should be done about them...:hmm:

Banning him because of the Scientology cult is a little strange.

They should have banned Tom Cruise, because he is Tom Cruise.

So this whole thing (Germany banning the film) is just about Scientology and Tom Cruise?

I'm proud that germany did this, other countries should follow suit. I looked this up on wikipedia;) and apparently the founder was a science fiction comic book writer. Red flags flying all over the place...

So? One religion was started by a carpenter. Another religion was started by a guy who went around looking for buried treasure. One was even founded by a hermit who lived in a cave.

Well I applaud them for sticking it to them, but still- Discrimination is Discrimination

The question is, how will the German's react to a religious group that they percieve as a money-schamming outsiders...

On a more serious note, I applaud this simply because Tom Cruise playing Von Stauffenberg will be the equivelent of AIDS in movie form. The concept of a movie based on Von Stauffenberg really excites, me, but even I won't touch that.

Oh well, I guess I'll just watch downfall for the Billionth time.

[Scientologists are trying] to secretly control the German economy and German society.

And that movie is
good the movie will just be a pile of anti hitler propaganda.

Finally . The Return of the Third Reich has come.

On a more serious note: Germany by defending itself against the Scientologist it's fighting for the work of the Lord.

Those nations who are still opposed to them will some day recognize the greater enemy within. Then they will join in a combined front, a front against scientologist exploitation and racial degeneration.

to secretly control the German economy and German society. In the last several years, various spokespeople for the German government have openly called for either banning Scientology altogether or, at the least, excluding Scientologists from government or party positions.
The German Minister of Labor, Norbert Blüm, has been one of the group's most outspoken government opponents. In 1994 Blüm issued a decree preventing Scientologists, as members of a ?criminal association,? from obtaining a license to operate newly permitted private employment agencies

I dunno...maybe its just the fact that its Germany....but there's something just sooo disturbing about this...

Don't worry. Germany will find a solution to this Scientology problem. I know it.

You do realise that the parts Whomp quoted were part of and Anti-germany scientology ad?

No one is going far enough to treat scientology.

Re-education camps should be opened to undo years of psychological manipulation and brainwashing conducted by the scientologists upon their unfortunate followers or more accurately, victims.

Germany has a history of that

From left to right: Islamic extremism, Scientology and organized crime.

The slogans on the top read: "Protect our democracy"

Knowing that, I would not be surprised if Germany bans any information about this dangerous cult.

One more interesting thing about this film:
Cruise and Singer wanted Tobias Moretti as Hitler (An Austrian actor; played Hitler in "Speer und er", most will know him from "Komissar Rex" (aka Inspector Rex and Rex: A cops best friend) or as Cassius in the Ceasar TV mini-series ) and he refused

I should mention here that he plays a lot of theater and has presumably not a very high opinion on Cruises acting abilities

Anyone see the irony in Germany's discrimination of Scientologists...

I don't see the irony. Germany discriminates against Nazis as well. Is that wrong? Will you defend rights of the poor Nazis to spread their "faith"?

I don't think so.

Scientology is a dangerous exploitative sect which should be crushed without mercy. Good to see that at least one country understands that.
