I will close this, as there seem to be more and more dropouts every update. I am trying to keep a dying NES alive without much success. But I do have an idea to bring over from another forum to see if it will take, the outline is discussed below.
The Roman Empire is in its peak, it spans from Egypt to Britain, Spain to Jerusleum and everything else in between. Rome is fighting off Barbarians in the north called Germans, they are also in a struggle against the Parthians and to a lesser extent Persia.
You will create a character, from Emperor to lowly slave, any character is available, but I would like someone experienced to be the Emperor, preferably 500 posts or more to their post count. If several people want to be emperor I will choose one person. (think of it as a job interview
)
The battles are resolved in a unique way, the players themselves determine the outcome of the battle through stories and chain of command:
Example:
Battle of Jerusleum part II.
Commander of the Legions post his plan.
Second in commands take plan and orders soldiers into position.
Centurions start the battle by following plan, I.E First line charges while second line holds back. Centurions in first line orders the charge while centurions in the second holds his troops back.
Interim, battle summary before reinforcements or end of battle is done.
If reinforcements are needed, the second in commands orders them in.
Battle ends with the soldier's individual stories if they so wish to do one.
The better the stories are, (smooth transition between orders, no gaps in stories etc... ) the better chance you have at winning. If someone on the chain of command fails to get orders in 24 hours, the chances of winning slips away. After 48 hours, or 2 days, the battle is lost and a search is initiated for the missing officer.
Note: The time limits only focuses on individual players, not the whole army. So once the commander gets his plan in, the second in commands have 24 hours to issue orders, if they get their orders in 10 hours, then the clock resets for the next player. But if the second in command misses the deadline defeat is a possibilty.
