Pre Update: A New Day
For the last 400 years, Logan has struggled, coping with transportation, education and health problems. Even crime was rapant and police still fought bitterly for control over the streets. But Mayor Zabriskie has held a press conference in the newly built Convention Center and proclaimed a new era for Logan. In his words, "A new day for Logan and the beginning of a new era!" With this phrase he started the slideshow, the lights dimmed and the screen lighted up:
We are proud to welcome to Logan,
Fusion Incorporated, who built the first Nuclear Power plant that put our obsolete Coal plants out of business and saved the city thousands of dollars in expenses. We are proud to see this company here, despite what those enviromentalists might think.
This was followed by
NARC Incorporated who brought the city's first news program. For the first time in years, Logan could see events happening on tv instead of newspapers, this has helped the local businesses immensily by promoting the selling of better and clearer tv's. The city also uses this new station for their "commercials".
The city recieved a much needed financial break with the arrival of
Mega Bank, a private business who handles customer cash. This left the city free of this stress and helped them to shift through their own financial planning. The arrival of Mega Bank helped the city out of their deficit and into a strong and healthy $5,000 a month paycheck.
Luckymoose Incorporated was right on Mega Bank heels as they flowed smoothly into town and started a industry that sorely needed help. The fledgling cable companies were struggling to meet the demands of 200,000 people and businesses, with the arrival of George Manfred Sr and his company, the city has finally entered the age of cable tv. The future looks bright.
Slower to establish was the
King Krab Kompany which for some reason has been boycotted by African Americans, I am sure the news crew is all over this and will discover the reason behind this boycott. Anyways, despite the boycott and the fact that no rivers or lakes are in Logan the company has maintained a steady income and looks to become stronger over the years. Or distaster may hit.....
Epslife Temporary Residences arrived soon afterwards and bought out several abandoned apartments and turned them into cash cows, but a hefty fine from the city for breaking several building codes may be their downfall. Among the citations are; Fire alarms needs to be updated, sprinkler system must be installed, and elevators need to be installed in buildings exceeding 10 floors.
Perhaps Epslife should look into getting insurance from our next business,
Insured!, to help cover the damages that could happen to the new elevators or fire alarms. Insured! says they will cover anything, fire, hurricanes, tornados, car accidents. Perhaps they should include one for false UFO sightings?
A man has moved to Logan, he has been seen entering Logan City Hall and the Mayor's home. His intentions are not clear, but rumor has it, he plans to build a Monorail in Logan. This rumor has the city in an excited mood, they eagerly anticipate the breaking of ground for the
Logan Monorail system.
Finally, Jan-Peter Bruinwater has purchased the failing Water system and renamed it the
Logan Waterworks Incoporated. But with the treatment plant over 100 years old and an old leaky section of pipe he has his work cut out before him. Can he turn the water into Logan's pride and joy?
With the influx of businesses moving into Logan, the population boomed to over 200,000 people, and the cash reserves grew from 450,000 to close to 900,000 dollars. The city's monthly paycheck avrages around 5,000 dollars a month, the cit is rapidly growing rich, but like all good things it will come to an end, but the question everyone is asking themselves is, when?
