Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.
John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.

Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860.
John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.

Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.
Both wives lost a child while living in the White House.
Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.
Both Presidents were shot in the head.

Now it gets really weird.

Lincoln's secretary was named Kennedy.
Kennedy's Secretary was named Lincoln.

Both were assassinated by Southerners.
Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson.

Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808 Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.

John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839.
Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939.

Both assassins were known by their three names.
Both names are composed of fifteen letters.

Now hang on to your seat !

Lincoln was shot at the theatre named "Ford."
Kennedy was shot in a car called "Lincoln" made by "Ford."

Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.

And here's the "kicker".......

A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe, Maryland.
A week before Kennedy was shot, he was with Marilyn Monroe.

Lincoln was shot in a theatre and the assassin ran to a warehouse.
Kennedy was shot from a warehouse and the assassin ran to a theatre.

:crazyeye: :crazyeye: :crazyeye: :crazyeye:

I didn't come up with all that btw, it was received on email a few mins ago. What do you guys make of that!?

'Ow queer! That really is very bizzare

Wow! Nice link Turner. It puts many things straight. I was simply struck by how down the line these coincidences went. As we were saying about the accusations against Harry Potter being a terrorist training manual, it's very easy to push things into line to tell the story you want. But these coincidences were a bit much!

Prague's New Town and Charles University was founded in 1348
Revolution in Prague - 1848
Czechoslovakia gained independence in 1918.
Fall of the first republic - 1938. (fall of the rest of CZ and beginning of Nazi occupation - 1939)
Communist takeover - 1948
Soviet invasion - 1968
Velvet revolution - 1989
Accession to the NATO - 1999
...

At least I don't have a reason to be afraid - until 2008

Once again, people are spreading conspiricy theorys. whats new?
I'm not saying there is anything new at all. It's quite funny and strange reading though. Weird how the human brain always finds these strange coincidences enticing, if quite empty of meaning.

Kennedy didn't have a secretary named Lincoln. There are some inaccuracies in that "article."

Dag nab it! How threads have been created about the Lincholn/Kennedy thing?

I found this in my history book,

Hehe - You're good. :)

(Like I said guys, I was simply reproducing an email I was sent. I don't see anything in this 'article' either. It's quite funny though how we humans have a tendancy to come up with these things, as the link I just gave shows.)

Except new evidence (or a re-examination of the old evidence) by CNN has pointed out the Oswald didn't shoot the president, the bullet came from the other direction.

And there's ample evidence to suspect that Booth, while he was the killer, was not the man shot and killed by the police in the warehouse.

AAAaaarrrgh! Have people been watching that blasted Oliver Stone Film Again?

The argument that the bullet comes from the other direction is based on the movements of Kennedy's head when hit by the bullet: His head jerks back in the direction of the Book repository, supposedly showing that he was shot from the opposite side. However this is easy to debunk, see the 'head snap' section of this site for example.

Acoustic evidence has also been used to support the theory that there were more than 3 shots, but these conclusions are based on highly flawed evidence.

Now that you mention it, I do recall an episode of MythBusters where they showed that under certain conditions, the target can move towards the shot, instead of away from it as you would expect.
