"Get it done" vs "Get what done?"

This is too vague. Are you asking how people define their lives and actions morally/ethically/socially or are you asking how people balance knowledge pursuit vs action on projects at work or in an educational environment or what?

Are you looking for life philosophies or career questions? Or just hobbyist pursuits?

[01:30] <+Lohrenswald> And it's pretty relevant, I think
[01:32] <+Hygro> I'm asking people how they balance consuming and producing
[01:32] <+Hygro> or
[01:32] <+Hygro> listening and speaking
[01:32] <+Hygro> or
[01:32] <+Hygro> reading vs writing
[01:32] <+Hygro> or
[01:33] <+Hygro> learning a topic and performing said topic
[01:33] <+Hygro> but
[01:33] <+Hygro> there's a lateral component as well
[01:33] <+Lohrenswald> lateral?
[01:33] <+Hygro> when do you move forward rather than try to find the best direction to move
[01:33] <+Hygro> i.e. rotate

Don't ask why I'm up so late

also bump, I guess

I think I finally understand what this thread is about.

You move in one direction until it feels that you've moved in that direction too much. Then you switch and move over to something else. I don't think it's possible to plan out a balance ahead of time - unless it's something very specific, in which case there's probably case studies/examples you can look up - such as the best way to learn a programming language for instance - it will involve learning a bit of this, a bit of that, and a good balance with hands-on fooling around.
