Flight check- Looks good so far, England & France have been removed from the equation.
Military Report: 13 workers(& 22 slaves), 1 archer, 18 swords, 11 pikes, 7 knights, & 6 cats. Weak compared to Russia. Average compared to India & Zulu. Strong compared to Persia, France, & England.
Diplo Front: Behind Econ & Nav on India, Russia, & Zulu(all have saltpeter also).

Now the only question is who to attack, I really want to go after Russia. However since I’ll only have to raze one city & then saltpeter will fall under Ivoryopolis’s borders, I’ll beat back the Indians for 5 turns before concentrating on burning a bunch of Russian cities.

I’m gonna bring 90% of our troops back to the west in preparation of 10+ turns of war with 2 different countries. I’ll most likely only leave a pike or two & a couple swords & a knight to pillage those loose tiles that used to be France.

Bout time to drop courthouses into our cities, though I’m gonna wait a couple turns to see what kind of counterattacks I get & how many troops I’ll need before starting a long term project.

Most of our troops moved into position to start war with India next turn. Too bad our cats won’t get there in time, I might just take them to the south to deal with Russia instead of bringing them over for India. We’ll see.

IT- Zulus demand Ivory from us. I tell him where to shove his demands, he declares war. This might have been :smoke: on my part, I just hate caving to the AI when their overseas.

Brave 2hp Kn fends off attacks from 3 Els, losing only 1 hp(well he was forted on a mtn so that helps).

Vet Sw kills longbow. Burns Hyperbad, gains 2 more slaves.
El archer kills Lb.

Rush bank in Dyeburg(300g).

Disband worker in Ivoryopolis(giving it 2 shields to avoid the double rushing cost) & then rush a bank (600g).
That leaves us with 200g & after they complete next turn we’ll be pulling in around 200-300gpt after that.

*India has lost 3 or 4 cities but isn’t willing to cave, lets keep pushing the attack until we can get all their techs or WW cripples us.
*Magnitogorsk(Russian) has expanded, cutting off Dyeburg from the rest of our cities. I have a Sw & cat in the area, for when we declare war.
*I’d suggest building a couple Caravels out of Coastville to cut off any Zulu ships that decide to come after us.
*Berlin is starving & set to a longbow(2 turns), it’s set up like this because we have some workers chopping a forest that will be finished in 3 turns.
*Vineland is MMed for growth this turn, all other cities(besides Berlin) are MMed for growth/gpt. They will all have to MMed next turn when the rush builds complete.

Sounds like the battles continue. Since we're supposed to kill the first civ we found. Shouldn't we somewhere along here kill the English.

I'd put them at priority #3: 1. India, 2. Russia, 3. England.

MM Berlin to grow. When I founded Vineland, I didn’t think it was going to be on a river. I am pleased to find out that I was wrong. :)

We’re at war with Gandhi, Shaka, and of course Liz. Liz now has four cities. I think it is time that her ends her time in this Civ-life.

Gandhi will give us Economics in exchange for peace. C’mon, you can do better than that.

We’re behind at least five techs to India and Babylon. Presumably to Zulu also. Any trades are just plain expensive. Hopefully with 124 gpt and growing, we’ll be able to buy some techs soon. Plus the pointy stick ones we’ll get from Gandhi.

Not sure why we’re researching Democracy. We’re not going to use it and it isn’t required to advance. We can’t use it for bargaining and we’re not going for Shakespeare’s Theatre are we? Just not sure of the logic there.

We’re strong compared to England, France, and Persia. Average compared to India and Zulu, and weak compared to Russia.

Time to watch Gandhi’s jumbos do their worst. Enter.

For 29 gpt I can get Cathy to fight Gandhi instead of us. I go for it. At first she wanted all our cash, but I figure a gpt deal is better. That way if she breaks it, she is out the cash.

DO NOT MAKE PEACE WITH GANDHI FOR 20 TURNS OR UNTIL CATHY DOES WHATEVER COMES FIRST.

Upgrade two more pikes.

IBT – An Indian archer and jumbo attack a knight and die. The knight promotes to elite, but is redlined.
Liz wants to talk. She’ll give us all her cities and her money for peace. See lady, it’s nothing personal, but there’s this fella named Gengis Khan that I work for, and he says he wants to see you swimming with the fishes. So shove off.

We now have just one front. I will endeavor to prevent too much settling in our rear.

Gandhi will give us Metallurgy and all his $$ for peace. Sorry, just checking. Go talk to the ugly one in Moscow.

7. 1120 AD – Siege of Nottingham (part 2) 4/4 knight killed by 3/3 spear (redlined)
4/4 knight kills 1/3 spear (-2hp) Nottingham is burned to the ground.

5/5 knight kills 2/3 musket (-2hp) and Barbarosa appears to great fanfare.

Barbarosa is heading back to build Wall Street.

Given that we are behind in tech, a two-fer isn’t available (unless we want to trade with Liz). Talk to Hammy Cathy would give us Physics for some cash and dyes, but I’m think we will want to go to war with her as soon as we make peace with Gandhi. So I pass. Instead I trade Hammy 13 gpt, 728g and WM for Physics. He doesn’t have Magnetism yet. Neither does Cathy, but both have ToG.

After Action Report: I just about have all five cities with all 21 tiles improved. I was considering some sacrificial offerings to the shield gods, but with steam coming soon, we’ll need the slaves.

We need to check who we go to war with next after Liz is wiped out... Gandhi or Cathy

I see some of our workers are doing outside city radius stuff. Not a real big deal, but we have some mountains to mine.

Vineland doesn't use its goldmine.

My idea: Do some gentile India bashing, but make courthouses.
 
If the opportunity arises, I'd take out English cities. I would wipe that blot from our continent. It is convenient that Gandhi is next since we're already fighting him.

Actually, I was wondering the same thing during my turns. I figured we could take all India's techs except democracy to settle earlier. But it is an intresting point you bring up.

In summary everybody but X-man have all the MA techs and want ~1000 for any of them. Given the above shut off research and put the beakerhead at Coastville back to work.

Looks like we will have to beat up on Gandhi for 13 turns and if it's convenient take out Liz.

SitRep

Cities are all at pop12 except DB at pop11 and are mostly content There is about 1/3 war weariness in the unhappy citizens but no threats of disorder. Treasury is sound and productivity is OK few shields wasted. CH at DB will boost production and finishing tile improvemnets will help IEF is almost healed and Uralsk is the next target.

Lizzie still lives and India is weakening Russia grows stronger Persia remains a non-entity Gandhi will give us MilTrad and his treasury (22g) for peace

The barbarian hordes really crimped the plan Without the distraction Liz would be gone and India knocked back giving us access to another horse source. Going after Uralsk and Chittagong weakened India's military but slowed us down overall, I'm afraid.

With all the open land, the barbs are able to generate freely. We're used to all land being occupied by the time the MA changes over to the IA, but that was the traditional barb uprising at the age change. This game is always surpising me.
