The manual for this expansion is posted on the forum.
There are probably ideas from this expansion that might be worthwhile for HR.

At a minimum there is now art for some new wonders.

I'll take a look.

At a minimum there is now art for some new wonders.

Unfortunately Civ5 building and wonder art is incompatible with Civ4.

They have added a new resource

Truffles
Food: 0
Production: 0
Gold: +2
Can be Found on: Forest, Marsh, Jungle

Some of these are interesting and should inspire something for HR, even if many of the details are changed. For example a World Wonder related to Castles would be interesting, even if Neuschwanstein is perhaps too Eurocentric, the Railroad tech is much too late, and the bonus is probably too big.

Draft New World Wonder of HR

(Himeji Castle is based in Japan.
Currently a Unique Wonder in HR, so either a different castle from around the world for the World Wonder such as Neuschwanstein, or a new Unique Wonder for Japan.
However, we know there is art for Himeji Castle.)

+1 gold and +1 happiness for cities with Castles.
+50% defense to city in which wonder is built. (except versus gunpowder units)
1 Engineer GPP
6 culture
Requires Siegework or maybe Machinery.
Hammer cost similar to The Spiral Minaret, double production with stone.

There's at least one feature from Civilization V that I would love to see in History Rewritten: Natural Wonders, such as the Great Barrier Reef, Mount Fuji, Old Faithful, and Uluru.

These unique features would be generated at the start of the game. They would be clearly visible on the world map, with signs posted above their tiles. They could provide bonus happiness to nearby cities, slightly higher tile yields than standard terrain, guaranteed access to certain rare resources, guaranteed access to a tribal village, or some combination thereof. Of course, no improvements could be built on top of Natural Wonders. And, under the Balanced Start option, no Natural Wonders would appear near the starting location of any civilization. (Or, alternatively, no Natural Wonders would appear at all.)

In general, Natural Wonders would reward early exploration and contribute towards a more immersive game experience.

Truffles

Not a priority. There isn't space for any more luxury resources in HR at this time, and even if there was, there's probably others I'd prefer to add before Truffles.

Wonders

Some interesting ideas in G&K and also in this thread. There's room for quite a few more wonders in HR, I've just been holding off until this civics expansion is complete.

Natural Wonders

There is a Natural Wonder mod component in development which I'm keeping an eye on. I definitely want to see them added to HR.

Petra, Draft World Wonder

Can only be built in a city on or next to Desert.
Tech Requirement: Record Keeping
Cost: Between the Oracle and the Great Wall, Double speed with Incense.
Cultural Output: 8
Great Person Points: 1 Merchant Point
Effects: +2 Gold for all worked Desert tiles (for this whole civilization).
+25% commerce in this city.

Masonry or even Plumbing might fit better as a tech requirement, but Record Keeping is in the right historical range and does not have an associated Wonder.

I like the idea of Petra only being able to be built on or near a desert.
Deserts are less useful all else being equal, and this even things out a little for someone who has a start with lots of desert tiles in the general vicinity.

I do not know if this is possible to program in HR.

Assuming it is, I think it would be good to extend the idea to Mountains or even Tundra.

A Wonder that could only be build near a Mountain tile would even things out a little for someone who has a start with lots of desert tiles in the general vicinity.

I do not have a specific Wonder idea, World or National, but maybe it could involve generating money for a mountain resort or mineral wealth. Possibly modern, since there is room for more modern wonders.
