Godslayer bug?

Just wondering if this is right, I had taken the city that contained 1 piece of the Godslayer (blade I think), I decided to raze the city and for some reason the unit that took the city did not move onto the city square, leaving the godslayer undefended.

A wolf then moved in during the AIs turn and destroyed the Godslayer piece, however on my next turn I recieved a Quest completed message.......

I assume that although I've got a quest completed, it is now impossible for me to complete the godslayer? (without re-loading of course)

I thought this ought to be reported as a bug because if a part of the godslayer is destoyed then a quest failed message ought to be displayed, not a quest completed.

Yeeeeees, but that's not addressing a bug is it?

I can equally save myself by returning to a previous auto-save, but again that doesn't address the problem....which is the whole point of this threaad is it not?

Indeed, one question though. How the hell did you manage that, a wolf? Did you kill the place off before he even got his cultural borders expanded?

funnily enough yes, it was a wolf. I had a bunch of longbowman and Epona and 3 assassins, I didn't want to keep the city to I let it burn, but oddly the assasin that I used to attack did not move into the city square, it remained in the starting square, so the part of the godslayer sword was left undefended. I either did not have any usits with movement left, or simply did not think to move a unit into that square and i went to the next turn, a wolf nipped in and attacked the godslayer piece. it was destroyed and i lost the piece, but was informed that i had completed that part of the quest!!

I found the Hilt and thought I had picked it up - only to find that when I returned it to my main city - I didn't have it anymore. I've found the other two pieces and the Hilt is no where to be found although the game says I have successfully found all 3 pieces. My guess is that I never picked it up and a Panther destroyed it. Game Over?

Either game over or Worlbuilder.

It seems only really stupid gods would create an artefakt to keep peace, that can be eaten and devoured by a wolf.
Or maybe they never wanted it to be used, even should the compact be broken?
:)

i don't know... no god i've ever read of in mythology seemed to intelligent... it could just be an oversight

The godslayer:
The ultimate weapon made to kill a god.
Its made of 100% pure
Spoiler :
meat! so that it tastes better for thoose babarian wolfes

It seems on flavour that only an irresponsible Kylorin would let a piece of the Godslayer unattented for even one turn

Feature ? ;)
I agree it shouldn't be dealt with lightly - BUT - shouldn't you be told 'game over'??? You are basically left to run around with no other chance at that point. The game also didn't notify when the piece was devoured. Oh well...

Now THAT explains everything! Had the godslayer been made of metal, I should be able to search Wolf / Panther guano for the missing people - however, your answer explains why that is not possible! Kudos!
