Local Austrian Elections (Democratic in local states-but under military leadership).

Main parties vying for the 10 Austrian states:

Austro-Hungarian party-sympathetic to government. Wants a new Austro-Hungarian empire through any means possible.

Social Democrats of Austria-Socialist moderate party. Government indifferent to them. Would like more democracy.

Fascist League-Extreme right wing militarists. Despised even by government. Want to use force to reconcile power, and create absolute dictatorship. Haven't yet spotted irony.

Communist Party of Austria-Extreme left wingers, who are openly hostile to the government, but attract little sympathy either. Want wordwider revolution to destry bourgeoisie.

Progressive party-liberal party. Usually vies directly with Social Democrats.

Conservative Austrian Mandate-are opposed to change. Like the military.

Reactionary Order-are ehemently opposed to any change at all. Oppose anything new or "radical".

Russia cuts all official relations with the Phillipines over their threats, and puts the entire military on highest alert. Discussions of a pre-emptive strike against the nation begin in the upper levels of the Russian military.

Ami Mei tends her roses. Blooming time is near. The roses, once nothing but a mere wisp of green stems, are now almost full grown. Their delicate red petals still wrapped and curled together, but something about their tone gave the impression of a readiness to open up, to reveal to the world their beauty. The deep royal green of each petal is consistent with its neighbors; there are droplets of water on each rose, fresh droplets from the fine mist recently sprayed on them. The water is their food, the water is their life, the water magnifies their beauty.

Ami Mei hums as she tends her garden. There are many plants in her garden, from edible plants like potatoes to watermelon, grape, turnip, carrots; and also decorative plants like tulips, ferns, and roses. All plants are arranged into neat, straight rows. Ami Mei is immensely proud of her garden, mainly because she planted every single plant, dug every single row, and harvested every single sow herself.

The city government of Hiroshima had dictated all citizens with land capable of gardens do so. This edict came when it was realized that the radiation from the atomic bombs of WW2 had much serious side effects. Even though the federal government did a massive campaign to clean up the radiation, there are still lingering effects. Scientists have hypothesized new vegetation would absorb the radiation, and with that hope the city government created the mandate. The newly reconstructed city now radiates with the beauty of its green tinted plants.

But enough digression, back to our story. Ami Mei was one of the few to survive the terrible Hiroshima bombing. Only four at the time, it has traumatically impacted her life. This was the past, Ami Mei had learned to move on and build a life for herself, devoid of hatred and suffering.

There are two passion's in Ami's life: gardening and children. Ami tended her garden everyday, even when there was torrential rain and typhoons. She gardened, no matter what. The other passion are children. Unmarried and physically unable to have children (from radiation), Ami has made a career as a careworker at hospitals.

Everyday Ami sees the same things: pain, suffering, anguish, hopelessness. Hospital patients lament in anger and sorrow at their fate. They pray and pray and pray for a rescinding of their illness, but to none avail. Ami is there to help them cope. While she has no magical powers, Ami is still there. Her cheerfulness and laughter are a cure in itself. Jesting, dancing, and singing, she prepares patients for their inevitable end, in some cases, patients recover from their illness.

Normal patients aren't the only thing Ami sees. Children, dozens of them, are sealed to death in the hospital. All the innocent children, doomed to die. Doomed to die of unknown causes. Some doctors, however, suspect radiation poisoning. When the word first hit the presses, there was widespread fear and concern. How had radiation affected all these children? Where did it come from? Will it ever stop? No one knew. Many of the children come from poor families, families unable to pay for their life support and treatment. Luckily, the government stepped in and paid for everything. While paying for treatment, the government also studied the physical and psychological effects on the children, hoping to find a cure and perhaps benefit from it. Ami is a member of one of these teams. She has dedicated her life to helping the children and finding a cure.

A corridor in Kremlin
Discussion between Putin and Gryzlov

The two men were walking down a long corridor in the Kremlin. Putin walked fast, nervous, frustrated. Gryzlov struggled to keep up.
"What can you tell me about them?"
"The Phillipines? Not much. Island nation, relativley untouched by 1962, built up in importance. Part of APETO. Created an empire out of small Carribean islands. Started the NAC, and has been increasingly anti-Russian in recent years." Gryzlov was out of breath and stoped for a pause that Putin used to ask again.
"We had an agreement in which the Phillipines would disarm all of their nuclear weapons, what happened?" The president sounded less than pleased.
"Don't know. After the Coalition faltered the Phillipines chose the time to break the treaty. They have crude nuclear weapons and even cruder ICBMs."
"And they dared threaten us?"
Putin's fase was solid as rock.
"You know yourself, they did."
"I would not want to be on those islands right now."

Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Letter to the Phillipines

"The Russian Federation finds it necessary to inform you of the following:
1. The Russian Federation finds it hipocritical of the Phillipines to hold Carribean Colonies, and to accuse Russia of despotism.
2. The Phillipines have broken a treaty of nuclear disarmament signed with Russia.
3. The Phillipines have threatened Russia with nuclear weapons
4. The Phillipines have attempted to use the NAC as a tool to put pressure on Russia.
In response to these actions by the Phillipines the Russian government has taken the following steps:
1. The Russian Federation condemns the actions of the Phillipinean government
2. The Russian Federation finds the nation of Phillipines a threat to World Peace and security
3. The Russian Federation withdraws from any and all agreements with the Phillipines.
Furthermore,
1. The Russian Federation demands immediate appology from the Phillipines
2. The Russian Federation demands immediate disarmament of the Phillipines WMDs
3. The Russian Federation demands a referendum to be held in every Carribean nation to determine the will of its citizens
Should these points not be carried out within 6 months the Russian Federation reserves the right to use any and all means necessary in a pre-emptive strike against the Phillipines in order to preserve its national security."

OOC - Eh, not one of your better stories, Storm. No pics. And it was short.

Speech In front of Senate (almost all stolen from Churhill)

The Red Dog is yet again at our door. We must not flinch or falter. We must not give in or give up. We shall not weaken or tire. Neither the sudden shock of battle nor the long-drawn trials of vigilance and exertion will wear us down. We shall defend our Islands, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender! We must defend ourselves from the foul socialism across the sea! We have helped to lift an iron curtain over the world. But they will not go down without a fight. It is to wage war, by sea, land and air, with all our might and with all the strength that God can give us to fight back against the oppressors of democracy and the spreaders of dictatorship alike! We shall never surrender!

*Roars of applause

In response to your letter we find all conditions acceptable, although we currently don't have nuclear weapons in our boards or in our posession, but we do have acsess to them.

President upgrades military to full military alertness.

OOC - Goober, it was not a story, it was diplomacy. Instead of just typing "From Russia, To Phillipines, I want you to do this this and this" I made it into a nicer style story, and hoped you would apreciate

IC -

What is unacceptable are your lies, since the KGB (OOC: Goober) has confirmed that even before the collapse of the CC Phillipines did posess nuclear weapons, and still has them along with a basic ICBM technology.

As does Russia. If Phillipnes holds elections in the Carriben then we ask that Russia holds elections in AUstrali, Indonesia, Papaua New Guinea, Costa Rica.

India along with other neautral nations offers to send inspectors to supervise these elections.

Mohammad Abbas looked upon the events between the nuclear powers of the Russians and the Fillipionios. What was to be done? What could be done? There was only one course of action

ANNOUNCMENT FROM THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED ISLAMIC STATES

Fellow citizens of this world,

As President of the United Islamic States it shocks and dismays me that the government of the Philipines would resort to nuclear threats so quickly. Have we not learned the lessons of the past? Have we not learnt that these weapons WILL DESTROY US ALL, if we do not destroy them NOW! The world still stands on the brink of ulitmate destruction, and the governments of the world will DO NOTHING about it.

I urge you all, citizens of this world, to rise up in one voice and demand that these weapons be destroyed once and for all! Only then can we be somewhat safer in the knowledge that this ever present threat has once and for all dissapeared.

It is in respons to this that I gaurantee the independence of ANY nation that is attacked by nuclear weapons, Russia included and I pledge my military to the defence of any nation that has been attacked in that regard

Signed

Moammad Abbas

President of the United Islamic States

I'm resigning as Colombia. It's time for me to do somethng fun.

I'm taking Papua New Guinea (listed as a seperate nation, so I can take them :D) be prepared for some arse-kickination.

@Mark
No, no more switching, Goober should do whats right and just kick you out of the NES altogether

To Russia and the Phillipines
Come on guys, stop with all the sabre-rattling, lets just calm down and talk it out, especially if its going nuclear.

In a full state of alertnes, promethus protocal, all parts of the military are readyed, not that i would use the nuclear missiles. Just that they must be ready to launch.

Also all nuclear missiles were disarmed 4 fired at Haita and the other 10 brought out of my country. and not under my control.

Edit- wait that accounts for all of them! so i don't have a nuclear arsonal!

The Philippines Offers this peace Agreement
The Philippines will-
Disarm and destroy all wmd related programs, and never start them or make them again
Hold elections in Jamaica and The Dominican Rebuplic this turn.
Russia will-
Disarm and destroy all wmd related programs, and never start them or make them again
Hold elections in all there holdings.

I think this is reasonable.

Stop this nuclear exchange nonsense. If either nation launches nukes Japan will retaliate in full.
