We can prove that Indonesia, particularly Suharto, has been abusing our people, engaging us in Genocide, in fact. We are presenting a case before the ICJ that will prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Suharto is directly responsible for deaths of at least 120,000 Acehnese, and displacing many more. Given this, why do you want to make Aceh a part of Indonesia? All we want to do is be a peaceful Democracy alongside your Democracies. All we want is freedom from Indonesia for our people. Why do some of you oppose this? We will hold a Referendum, if needed, to prove that we want Independence.

It is Aceh. It was on the news when the tsunamis hit, and CNN spelled it Aceh.
 
Actually, it's Acheh.
That's the official Indonesian spelling for it. CNN gets things wrong many times.

The NZ population for MP's (not senators) is greater then 20%? I always thought South Mad. had many million citizens. Then again the F. Isl.s. populations was increased for game realism and prosperity usually meant greater population in earlier parts of the 20'th century...

OOC - CBC called it Aceh, so that is what I will call it. I will respond to other spellings though.

Furthermore, Droeger was leader of the Heritage Front in Canada, a right-wing Nazi Movement who did rallies and marches and were anti-Jewish and anti-Black and everything. Basically caused a rucus, were annoying, and got thrown in Jail a lot. The name Droeger and Heritage Front seemed like perfect names for Neo-Nazi Germany's new leader and party. I am obviously not trying to offend anybody here, just using a name.

I am not sure what the NZ Population is, but your Parliament is composed of MPs elected mainly from NZ, and NZers sure as hell don't want to give up 80% of their power. Proposing a system whereby the colonies have seats in the Parliament equal to their Population, what I call a "Riding" would be more acceptable.

The Russian Federation will restore peace to Indonesia and will then deal with the problem of Atej. If the population wishes to become independant after a democratic government is established in Indonesia it will be allowed to do so.

Today in a session of the Reichstag, Reichskanzler von Droeger pushed forward the 'Territoral Legislation Bill' with near unanimous support. The bill, to be active by the 1st of February, will form the Bundestag - Federal Council - which will act as the legislative body of the newly incorporated territories of Sweden, Austria, Hungary, Denmark and Czechkoslovakia. The individual territories, in turn, shall be broken up into several large municipalities/districts, each electing their own representatives for the Bundestag. The number of representatives will be determined by population - usually 1 per every 100,000 people. However, the Bundestag does not have the powers to directly alter German law, instead, it has the power to advise and consent - essentially the voice of the occupied territories - under the guidance of the Reichstag and the Chancellory. The Bundestag will be lead by the Bundeskanzler, elected to advise the Reichskanzler on matters concerning the territories. The news comes somewhat expectedly, as the government in Berlin begins to incorporate these new territories, a result of the masterful Operation 'Anschluss', into the Grossere Duetsche Reich. Polls show that such a desicion is overall much approved by the German people, as long as power is not striken from them. Within the new territories, approval is moderately high aswell, the people happy with a greater voice in government. However, some dissents still lurk, claiming that this is a mere facade and that power is still held by Droeger absolutely. Such radicals are few and far between, however, and their message is not spreading.

Pleas for Achehnese independence

In Indonesia, the battle against Suharto and his forces continues to escalate. The German government, in an emergency session of the Riechstag, declared full support for the independence of the new nation of Atjeh (acheh) as German forces currently leapfrong along islands near the Sumatran coast, ready to enforce their garuntee of independence if necessary. However, it has been declared that such garuntee of independence is only valid if referendums are taken to back up the Achehnese declaration. This is the first international action taken by the Reichswehr, Luftwaffe, and the Kriegsmarine since the conquests of Operation 'Anschluss' and in Indonesia new weapons are expected to be tested - such as the newly completed Luftwaffe Deutschflieger Me-1A, a new fighter of which details have been highly classified.. The primary concern of German forces are the removal of the corrupt Suharto regime, a new and democratic Indonesia, and a democratic and independent Acheh. New information will come in as the situation materialises.

DROEGER CALLS FOR ECONOMIC DEREGULATION - REICHSTAG APPROVES

Reichskanzler Droeger, in an economic move seen smart by many conservative politicians and the whole of the Heritage Front in general, has called for widescale economic deregulation to boost competitiveness and in turn boost the economic prosperity of Germany as a whole. The Riechstag has overwhelmingly supported this move, and regulations on small buisinesses have been slashed, along with other corporate regulations. This move is to increase investment in the German nation, and is also done to see that German corporations stay in Germany, and not relocate themselves to other nations. Tax cuts have also been issued due to the large surplus of the German cash machine, these tax cuts should allow the German people to spend more and produce more in a time where the German economy is swimming in revenue.

REICHSTAG PASSES THE 'INTERNATIONAL TRANSACTION' BILL.

The Reichstag has passed the 'International Transaction' bill. The bill, seen by many as an improvement in German power and prestige, gives the Reichstag and the Chancellory the power to approve or dissapprove of all foriegn deals (mostly designed to stop the purchase of German corporations by foriegn ones) which concern German corporations, except those deals made on the initiative of such companies (such as german purchases of other foriegn corporations). Such a bill, paradoxically with the new deregulation bills, has significantly increased the hand of government in international economic affairs. In domestic economics however, the hand of the German government is nearly invisible, coinciding with the belief of the Heritage front that government should interfere in economics as little as possible, to allow the greatest prosperity.

FLAT RATE INCOME TAX APPROVED BY REICHSTAG - ANOTHER MOVE TO GROW THE NATIONAL PRODUCT AND INCOME

The Chancellory has established a flat national income tax, a move which has delighted many. In effect, the massive beast of the 9 million word tax code has been brought down, and the new tax code which can be printed on a single government regulation size tax card has been established. Billions of hours a year are lost on tax compliance, and this flat rate is designed to destroy the complexity and allow for easier growth of the economy. This system is also designed to stop the abuse of the numerous loopholes in such a complex and unwieldy code. The rate, for individuals and families will work thusly - a family of four would pay no national income taxes over the first 46,165 Euros of its income. Anything over that amount will be taxed at the fair, flat rate of 17%. No taxes will apply to social security benefits, no taxes on personal savings, and no death taxes, so that families, small businesses, and farms would not have to worry about being wiped out by such a tax. Buisiness taxation is designed to be equally simple - with a 17% flat rate on profits with deductions on salaries and the costs of materials and services neccessary to produce the company's goods and/or services. Initially, people will be given a choice on which system to use for a period of 5 years, until it becomes obvious that the flat tax is much more favored. This flat tax will let people keep more of what they earn and lower barriers to risk taking, increasing the competitiveness of the market. Standard of living, the quantity of better paying jobs and new businesses, and income are expected to rise, along with national revenue. Because even due to the reducement of tax revenue, economic prosperity and money generated by the people will continue to fuel the GDP and the economy as a whole.

PUBLIC HEALTHCARE SYSTEM ESTABLISHED FOR ALL CITIZENS OF THE REICH

The Reichstag, in a flurry of legislative activity, has also approved a bill proposed by the Chancellory, a bill which establishes public healthcare for any and all citizens of the Reich. Such social healthcare system will reach all citizens regardless of age, race, creed, sexuality, and all other such factors. A Public-Private system will be set up, by which citizens can choose private insurance companies if they want to, instead of the highly funded government alternative. Such healthcare will also be extended to the citizens of the territories. Overall, this move is highly approved of, as expected.

GERMAN NATIONAL ELECTRONIC INFORMATION NETWORK ESTABLISHED

The Deutsche Nationale Elektronische Informationen Vernetzen (DNEIN) has been established by the national government. The Network has been announced after the Yugoslavian GlobalNET, and the DNEIN is seen as a strong competitor, although it is meant only for the German nation, with possible subdivisions for foriegn nations who wish to use the DNEIN system. The DNEIN integrates television, computer, and telephone networks all into one, creating a synergized electronic network covering the whole of the German nation. Such network shall spread information throughout the whole of the nation rapidly and effeciently, aswell as creating a central and unified system which relays only the most honest information and news throughout the nation's system of computers, and televisions. Billions are being fuelled into the project and it is expected to be completed within the next several years. This system will be able to link with other foriegn networks, but it is meant as a German system for the German nation, and as such will replace all other networks within the German nation.
