I'm looking for a good MMORPG to play for the next 6 months to a year. I can't go with the new ones coming out, as my computer has finally hit the point of being semi-outdated. I am looking for something that was released in the last couple years, is RPG, is solid & has a good community still.

In the past I have played Ultima Online & Everquest. Both had their ups & downs, but all in all were good in their time. I have been looking at Asheron's Call, Lineage, and a couple others. Anyone know of a good game that fits this description?

Note:

I am running a PIII 550 Mhz
256 RAM
64 MB Video card
Cable connection

thanks!

Why not just play a good MUD? They're free and require nothing.

Or perhaps Neverwinter Nights. There is no monthly fee for online play.

I've played most of them, including NWN. I want something to hold my attention for 4 hours a night for several months.

EQ was a great game that way, but the rewards were a bit too slow for my taste - I couldn't keep pace with the expansions!

Anarchy Online might interest you, depending on how fast you level can interest you for a while.
You can try the 7 day free trial to know for sure.
I have a had alot of fun with the game

You might give Asheron's Call a try. Its a good game, about 4 or 5 years old. Fun stuff. www.acvault.com

Asheron's call is quite good, so is Anarchy Onlline...

If you can run it, Dark Ages of Camelot is good...

Also, check out Legend of Mir: Three Heroes and RedMoon, I think it is...

Is Asheron's call like an online world version of Dungeon Siege?

You might want to check out Star Wars Galaxies if your computer can handle it. I bought the game, but my video card was not good enough so I just got rid of it. It has a monthly fee but looks pretty good for a MMORPG.

DOAC is not bad
