Very well, then , your holiness, I will not argue with the top humbler atop the humbling chain by which all others may be humbled...only informing you that while my response to your demeaning remarks on my ability to host a master game properly resonated unmistakeably with a note of anger, though it was more passion, spirit as you would say, then temper, your seemingly benevolent gentleness of speech is tainted with malice. Read it again, read what you just wrote, and you should easily see what all others see; for when I speak at least I say it directly and with a tone intended to strike a certain meaningful purpose, to warn you that you attack rather than 'suggest' as you would probably like, and not with this constant condenscending nobility with which you speak your pieces (though since this is a civ forum I hope it is merely a sign of your skill and not your personality).
It is natural for the noble to challenge my authority, since I have claimed the greatest mastery and still do, but you insult the others as well ,and needlessly, but that is not between us. I merely want to lay it all down, and very technically too, so the two of us can base this on reality and not your snootily insulting disposition or my quick anger:
6 islands? 6 ISLANDS? I have been known to pass some foul gasses but never something so huge and unsightly...where was this 'suggestion' aqcuired? I go back and I read your second post but nowhere is it mentioned 'I hope it is not some isolated situation', but you demean instanly my game proposition as if these are the inferiorities I have proclaimed. And as for Barbarians, they will be raging, as I also like them, but they will also have pre-built barbarian nations from which to spawn, in EVERY continent, of which there are only three huge ones, lest there be just one or two pangeas, so again, where does all this pre-supposing come from?
Here is my theory, I think perhaps when you begin this game, if you are so priviliged by the luck of one of our colleagues neglecting the time limit, you will look around, encountering more barbarian and human opposition than you wish, and start to see a playing environment unlike any you've ever seen, this I promise you, because I know now, just as I have said about Narz's game proposition (that it didn't impress me, without any MAJOR disrespect to him) that you are not on the master level yet if you have not realized what a shabby engine the computer uses to design maps; have you never played, before you had everything so honorably randomized, a map set on 'wet' and 'temperate'? Talk about false lushness, it is nothing but grassland sparsely dotted with forest and hills with a couple mountain pinpricks on little spindly landmasses where almost every city is coastal for lack of true continental realism, and it is a rare thing to land on the same place with more than one other comp, if even that!
You want to get even more technical? Maybe you've never tinkered with these giga maps I'm so used to but when you tell the computer to randomize it for you, putting it on continents and large landmass if you like, it gives you an even-looking spattering across the globe of archipelagos and little island continents; dont you get it?? Its not human, its working with a formula and so the bigger the map the more obvious that formula becomes, which is annoyingly simple and homogenous in construct, unlike my map which is devoted to the unpredictibility of the terrain; you could be in a fairly decent are of plains and mild grasslands one moment and then suddenly you strike a mountanious region with nothing but hills and carefully constructed valleys with hard-to -use forests in between them all stretching out for the next 20 squares in that direction! Tell me, good father, have you ever encountered such a situation in one your randomized maps?
So, now that your mastery is disproved on the issue and you rank below me in these affairs, I would ask you to pay a little bit of allegiance if you are interested in this tournament, and believe me, I almost wish GoJeero remains lost just to play you, and not in bitter feud but sportly challenge, by not trying to question me on crucial scenario aspects, all of which I could argue to a fine point as I have done the above to end them in supremacy above all other styles of play, which are immutable and will not anyway change. Accept them, if you accept this challenge, whole-heartedly and I only pray that you will not grow jealous upon seeing my game and realizing, though I don't expect you to admit, that it IS...THE definitive version of Civilization.
So father, maybe seeing as how I am trying to communicate with you after all and not defend myself needlessly against your snickering manners we can both stop being pricks and you can give me your full schedule...
...AND YOUR e-mail, I don't know if that little sadistic comment at the end of your reply was meant to suggest that I am blind and that I have been asking for everyone's adress like a fool, but again, if you read all the posts in this thread you will learn of the many pages of which I have spoken, and I don't see any easy to attach files with the civ fanatic's mailing system, and even if it did I would rather use my e-mail program than some fumbling website to do my communicating...
