It was Cactus Pete who got the gold this month, his 11th! His win was fairly comfortable. The race for second and third was a bit closer, but hhhawk was still second by a reasonable margin over Jimmy Thunder. Jimmy Thunder did get the fastest conquest award though.

Thank you to the staff for such a great game! I love small maps!

Thank you to the spoiler-writers for the opportunity they give all of us to learn further. Very special thanks to RobertTheBruce, our discussion about cultural games has been really interesting.

Now, jnaglich, please, tell us, did you delete your settler on the first turn? :crazyeye:

Oh, and it is impressive to get the results published the 5th, with all the holidays and all...

But... after looking at the Speed Global Rankings, I'd prefer you didn't publish more results in a couple of months :D :satan: It's nice to see oneself up there. :king:

My apologies, @Erkon, maybe you were right after all...

Thanks to staff for the quick response :goodjob:

A lot of us learned the importance of counting tiles

Could someone please inform me what happened to Balbes game? Was it not submitted correctly?

Lexad, you can see that I'm warming up for the next WOTM! I just hope that Gosha190 may target another VC. :mischief:

jesusin, apology accepted :D

I just hope that Gosha190 may target another VC. :mischief:

I am not strong player really. This is my first finished game. I think it was simply "Backham day" :) And anyway I will not play fast domination soon. :D

Great THANKS to stuff for small easy map!

Congratulations to all!

Special congrats to the Challengers, in particular Lexad!

Gosha190, I hope you get well soon. That finish date is sick... :goodjob:

Congratulations to everyone! 90 submitted victories, and 111 submissions all over, very nice. :)

jesuin, very impressive in the speed rankings! And I don't think you've reached he upper limit yet, you could likely grab a few more of those notes and get an even better speed score. :)

For myself, it's obvious I need to concentrate better. I was pretty happy with my game, but a 46th place... Still, I don't care much about score, it's fastest date that counts, and there I'm far too many turns behind Jeffa. Good game Jeffa! :goodjob:

Congrats to the winners and thanks to the staff for a really nice game.

Oh, and special congrats to jesusin for being once again the first to congrat the winners. You must be online the whole day I guess. :D
Or am I wrong?

Congrats to all participants and a big thanks to the staff! :goodjob:

This game was one of the most enjoyable so far due to the smaller map with less land. More like this please! :please:

Congrats to the medalists, and those with impressive speed award wins! :goodjob:

And again, kudos to ainwood for a fast results posting.

Now, for that guy who won the diplo speed award ... must be some kind of bad joke  ... slower than the fastest space win, and barely faster than the cow?!  Not quite "number one in a field of one" but close (number one in a field of three). Kind of like winning a medal in a boycotted Olympics, but I'll take it!

It does, however, exemplify the "cheap awards" concept that has been discussed in threads/posts about changing XOTM awards, about having separate "divisions", and about potentially 3 XOTM some (or all) months.

I, too, wonder how a conquest loss occurs on turn 0 ... :crazyeye:

And the full results page says that some of us were playing Civ III ... yet another  :crazyeye:

That must be how dV got an award ... he played Civ III!

Now, jnaglich, please, tell us, did you delete your settler on the first turn? :crazyeye:
It must me something else, as that would have taken less than 1 min 40 sec

But... after looking at the Speed Global Rankings, I'd prefer you didn't publish more results in a couple of months :D :satan: It's nice to see oneself up there. :king:
Well, with BOTM 1 having a six week deadline, you get to bask in the sun for a full month! ;) :goodjob:

Or longer if you keep winning fastest awards ...

Congrats to all and to the staff! Great game. I needed to play this one in a hurry, so the set-up was perfect! My all-time fastest RL GOTM, and highest scoring one too!

Hats off to speed demons jesusin and Gosha, and to the new diplo master da_Vinci! :D

Gosha190, I hope you get well soon. That finish date is sick... :goodjob:

In fact it is. I replayed the game going for domination with knowlegdge of the map and the tile count. Then I blundered and reloaded a previuos save of the replayed game. Then I got a wonderful result around 500BC.

jesuin, very impressive in the speed rankings! And I don't think you've reached he upper limit yet, you could likely grab a few more of those notes and get an even better speed score. :)

Thank you. I'll try my best. It is a bit dissappointing that, the more Cultural Fastest Victories I get, the worst I am in the Score ranks and the Combined rankings.

Oh, and special congrats to jesusin for being once again the first to congrat the winners. You must be online the whole day I guess. :D
Or am I wrong?

Twice wrong, my friend. :)
I am almost never online and I have not congratulated the winners so far.

Now, for that guy who won the diplo speed award ...

Oh, don't be too hard on him. He is a great guy, you know?

I've corrected the Red Ambulance Award. The 4000 BC submission was entered as a Conquest Loss instead of an incomplete game, and should not have been eligible for an award.

HarbourBoy wins this dubious honour now.

Congratulations to all winners and thanks to all participants.

Cheers staff for the game and the fast results posting :goodjob:

Good on Cactus Pete, our spikey champion.

Good on you Gosha for your great time.

I'm was pleased with how my game played out (second result in a row to get a double award, yay!) :sheep:

Congrats to the award winners and thanks to the staff and all the players who take the time to write spoilers to help the community learn.:goodjob:
