GOTM 25 Results & Congratulations

Congrats to winners, esp. hhhawk, Gosha, Jeffa and Bemep! Thanx to the staff!

Thanx, LC! I think I'll try Challengers for a while.

Erkon, I'm thinking of asking Gosha a personal favour for the next WOTM... And btw, you still shouldn't leave the bunker for a while.

I was going for Challenger fast Dom. Unfortunately I found out that the home continent is enough for Dom like 300 years after Gosha's finish date :D, glad his ultrarisky attitude and Hof-honed skills finally paid out. Therefore I chose a wrong development path, starting from building a settler instead of chariot swarm from the start, continued by researching further than Maths and CoL and building Cats and libraries to generate GS for lightbulbing unnecesarry Compass, Optcs and Astro. Still, not that bad.

Congrats to all the winners!

Well, my ridiculously bad finish the first time around (1941 domination - I replayed it for my own benefit and did much better) was pretty bad, and I only managed it through the luck of being far, far away from Hatty, who had a runaway tech lead by the time she discovered the second continent. We were all mired in the dark ages thanks to pretty much ceaseless wars that I never could quite finish decisively enough until later in the game - and then Hatty managed to build a few cities on the continent, and I had to attack her for any chance at a win!! Tell you this, fighting off tanks with riflemen is kinda nerve-wracking - but hey, I pulled it off and for my first GOTM and first ever Emperor game, I was glad to be alive

Congratulations to all who - unlike me - managed to finish and submit this game.

It is with special pleasure that I see two team mates from the SGOTM6 XTeam snatching gold and bronze medals. Well done CP and JT :goodjob:.

In my efforts to solve the da_Vinci mystery (How did he get that fastest diplo award ) I find an unfortunate XTeam'er, Mad Professor, who also got a diplo victory, but since he was caught in the middle between the fastest and the lowest scoring diplo he got nothing.

@da_Vinci: Have you considered writing a letter of apology to all former winners of the diplo speed award :D.

I thought my first post in this thread WAS that open apology to all other diplo winners! :mischief:

As to how I won it, have you ever heard the expression "hit 'em where they ain't!" ? That is how I won it ... and a back door diplo to boot!

 the conquest shield! And I beat the fastest spaceship and that 'notorious' fastest diplomatic date! ;) A fun game and I was very happy to finish. Congratulations to the winners! (especially that awesome domination date, Gosha190!)

Could someone please inform me what happened to Balbes game? Was it not submitted correctly?
There's no record of Balbes making any submission for this game.
