Since religion will become one of the central parts of diplomacy, why cant government types... It has always been my opinion that it should be easier to get along with governments that operate the same as yours. it would be historicly correct(cold war for one should be the only example i need). even with the new civics this would still be possible. i would for one love to band with my commrades and crush world democracy. i guess that it just had made sense to me why it is just as easy to make an alliance with a fascist goverment if you democracy..as it for a dem +dem reliationship,, any thoughts?

I'd agree, especially considering all hubbub, ruckus, hullabaloo, and brouhaha created by Bush's "spreading freedom" throughout the world. But then not even all you commies get along. The Russian Bear versus the Chinese Dragon. But yeah, Monarchies should be harmonious with each other and so on.

yeah i dont mean perfect harmony..but history has shown birds of a feather flock together. id love to see at least some of that in the game.(especially in the more modern areas of the game when religion will most likely weaken)

Support it, but the problem here lies in the gameplay. You cannot make the player be nice to all civs with the same government, but if you do make the AI this way, the AI cannot play 'as effective' as the player (because they play historically). Besides, it may become too complex (the diplomacy system) if you have the religion modifiert and then one more for all the five 'civics'. But show me a good system, and I support this system anytimes.

They've already said that foreign civs may pressure you to change your social engineering to be more like theirs. It's logical that it would also affect their feelings toward you.

I recall a game where I was leading in *everything*. I had twice as much money, military, culture, and tech as anyone else. I was using a democracy, and everyone else was a democracy. I changed government to fascism because I like domination victories. I do some intel on my opponent with my spy and all of the sudden they were in anarchy. A few turns later they were fascist, and so were a lot of other nations. The only ones who were utterly pissed at my invasion (besides the victim) were the ones that remained a democracy. The others were cautious and polite.
