[Graphic Mod] Varietas Delectat v9.2 [civ specific unit sets]

Thanks, not a lot of difference but oh well. Some of my newer units (euro scout, medieval euro worker) don't have any teamcolour at all on them, so I'll have to see about fixing that before they're uploaded.

Well, to be honest, this is one unit in which I don't like teamcolor at all... It's as good as it gets by itself. Only, we don't have separate ones for each Asian civ, and need is a big master. (I just love translating Hungarian proverbs into English:p. Sometimes it's really funny!)

Need is indeed a big master! (whatever that means) :mischief: Well I don't plan on making many more "Asian" explorers, maybe just a Mongolian one *maybe* and probably an Indian/Cambodian one. The current one suits Japan, Korea and China well I think. To be honest I wasn't really happy with how it turned out, there were reboning problems (which is why the head is separate) and just annoying things like that.

Oh, BTW, how do you like my new settler for Hungary?
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=6684262&postcount=64

It looks Hungarian. Good use of the Mongolian settler, the horse looks cool, and the cows look like bodyguards :lol::lol: (is it just me?).

Looks better! and I just noticed that one cow is smaller than the other, a nice touch of realism. :D

Thanks! This is as much as I am capable of, artistically I mean. It'll never be as cool as if you or bernie did it, but it'll do;)

It's all to do with the amount of practice you've had (and some creativity). I made plenty of average units (aka, dodgy textures, models with a thousand polygons, etc.) before I got the hang of it.

On the subject of the Asian Explorer, I just wanted to say that some of the next civ units I was working on after Ethiopia was Korea and Mongolia and I was planning to work on some explorers too since they are seem to be in demand... :)

Oh yes and the Hungarians have some pretty mean cows.... :scared: The settlers look very good!:goodjob:

Finally units for Korea and Mongolia, they have been neglected for too long. Looking forward to them :)

Hey... is your screenshot on page-1 for v3.6 what's in-mod? Why is your Russian Gangut battleship significantly larger then the Italian Roma battleship? They should either be the same size (because they're both battleships), or if you're going for true historical scale, the Roma (Italian BB) was much larger (225m) then the Gangut (Russian BB) was (180m).

Oh, thanks. Actually, I did want to make them equal in size, but there was so much reworking at the end that it slipped through. It'll be corrected for the next version.

Wow, can't wait for those units!!! (of course, you are quite in league with Chuggi and bernie and danrell and snafu and GenMatt as the makers of the highest quality of units!)

Mean cows:lol: Actually, those are pretty rare today, but kinda characteristic. I was quite happy how it turned out with me limited skillz.

I always deal with scaling ships, planes and tanks as I put them in (one at a time)... I go into WB after each addition and compare the new unit with units I want/expect to be the same size... re-edit the ArtDefines and check-again till I get the results I want.

As much as I love to be a purist on things, I do cave-in on scale... I try and make all bombers the same size, all battleships the same size, etc, etc, even if the actual models weren't the same size in history (the Roma vs Gangut or a He-111 vs a B-17).

Speaking of the He-111, ever consider using the He-111H instead of the He-111F? The He-111F was pretty-much obsolete at the start of WWII. I don't like the He-111H in the download database, because of the stupid V-1 strapped to the wing, but my Wolfshanze Mod uses a He-111H without the dumb V-1.

Yep, that's exactly how I do things. I even overdo it sometimes:crazyeye:

Thanks, I'll check that one out!
