Can anybody give me some tips on great concert DVD's?

I recently bought a very good home cinema system. And I really love to watch concert DVD's. I already loaned a couple DVD's from my father and sister, but I'm now looking to buy or rent a couple myself.

Criteria:

- The style of music isn't that important. I have a very wide taste. As long as the performance is great and there is something interesting to watch, it's okay for me.
- The recording (sound and image) must be perfect. Preferably with DTS surround.
- Widescreen not important
- DVD available in Europe

Thank you for your help :)

A music buff should know this one:

Stop Making Sense by Talking Heads. A concert movie.

Available in Europe.

Thanks :goodjob:

Keep them coming :)

I have another little request. Most bands that have been suggested this far I know well, but if you suggest something more 'obscure', could you please give a little background?

Thanks!

Dream Theater - Score was fantastic. Also their Live Scenes from New York DVD is superb.

Metallica - S&M is also worth a watch

Umm I dunno if this is available in europe but I'm pretty sure it is.

Nirvana
LIVE TONIGHT! SOLD OUT!

i guess...
only concert dvd i have.:goodjob:

It has become cool to hate them around here lately, but Green Day's American Idiot tour was really really good. I saw that show twice thanks to a friend of the tour's manager and I bought the dvd of the show as soon as it came out. It's big, it's flashy, it's loud, it rocks.

I've seen so many great ones.

The Who--The Kids Are Alright
Various Artists--Listen Up: The lives of Quincy Jones
Radiohead--Meeting People is Easy
The Band (and friends) --The Last Waltz

and if you'll consider them.
This is Spinal Tap
Bird--A movie about Charlie Parker

Just whatever you do, stay away from The most recent Switchfoot DVD, it's the most pathetic concert I've ever seen (discouting the local scene)

I actually kinda like "This Disaster-Live in London" by New Found Glory...I assume it's in Europe considering it was filmed in London. May not be your thing though...

Bullet in a Bible- Green Day

Also, for amazing instrumental music, Steve Vai's Live at the Astoria London.

Try the original Live Aid DVD.
Seen it. Very nice indeed.

Not really my kind of music, but I can recommend this: Zucchero & Co. at The Royal Albert Hall => great 5.1 DTS sound and overal very good performance by the guest artist (Solomon Burke, Brian May, Eric Clapton, Luciano Pavarotti,...)
