Apparently, you can build more than one dam per city if the city has multiple rivers with floodplains. I wonder if you can build multiple hydroelectric plants as well and if the Power is cumulative.
One of the best improvements for me is the optimized performance. Admittedly, I only reached the very late game in 1 out of 5 games, but up until the Information Age, no turn took longer than 10 seconds, whilst it often have been 30+ for me before GS. This alone makes the late game (and later game war especially) much, much more bearable. Kudos to Firaxis & Aspyr for this superb QoL improvement. I hope other users experience something similar and it is not just related to the port!
Accoring to the civilopedia the Varu still upgrades directly to the Tank, not the new Cuirassier. Can anyone confirm if that's the case? I played with India right before GS, and I don't feel like playing with them again so soon to test it.
Huh i just got the achievement Peacekeeper (As Wilfred Laurier, succesfully complete an emergency) while playing as Eleanor. Canada was in my game and just completed an emergency though (probably an emergency of supporting me after i was struck in a natural disaster?).

So I decided to try a religious victory with Canada and make use of Dance of the Aurora (+1 faith to tundra tiles). I get crazy amounts of faith from my tundra cities and had quite fun at the start, but late game religious is so god damn slow especially on the larger mapmodes I like to play on. So I decided to open borders with everybody and build railroad networks extending across the continents, that way I can move my army of apostles across the entire map in only 3 - 4 turns
The AI did use a jet fighter to attack me in my current game. I'm playing real late though trying to get the Nobel prize achievement. Yeah it's weird saying 1960 is late, but it is for this game. They attacked my GDR with their own GDR and a jet fighter. Although sadly it seems like he melee attacked my GDR with his GDR instead of ranged strike. He's pretty badly wounded. I don't think he's finished the tech tree like I have though, so mine is better.
And yeah, Kongo has at least 6 GDR's, or now 5 now that I killed one.
And because of my lack of oil, it seems like the only Navy I can build is aircraft carriers. I will use these to attack ships, because it's all I got. I guess Firaxis figured out a way to get us to use aircraft carriers.
LOL, farms replenish GDR health. How does that happen?
Also found out that when GDR's jump the attached great general doesn't come with him (I thought he was riding piggy back ). Makes sense though.
Germany is using a jet bomber against an encampment district walls, so that is good. Strangely Germany left adjacent city states alone all game until well into the information era. He just knocked one out, and now he's going for the other.
Annoying you still have the popup to choose a governor even when all governor titles have been assigned. And the icon at the top still lights up saying you have a governor promotion even though you are unable to assign any more promotions.
All in all it was fun playing this late. I saw a new world congress proposal. One that let's you assign increased tourism from a specific type of great work (like sculpture etc.).
If anybody's curious how the amazing Near South Pole AI Maori Capital fared, here's its evolution through the ages:
Spoiler:
Fluctuat nec mergitur
I haven't built a single coal plant at all, only a lot of railroads, a couple of nuclear plants and about a dozen of units. Despite that I still was the biggest polluter, and the climate change went through to the bitter end.
The mechanism is fun but it is in sore need of major rebalancing. And woe to you if you did not beeline computers, once the climate change starts, forget the flood barriers, you have zero chance to complete them.
Someone just told me on Reddit that Amphitheaters can be themed now, can you guys confirm this? I'm playing as Sweden, so my theming is different and the UI reflect that.

I don't know if they are supposed to be able to be themed, but I sometimes see the word "themed" pop up in glitched locations, such as under empty ampitheaters in my great works screen, so perhaps that is tricking the person who posted on reddit.
Am I correct in thinking that power is all local to one city? For example if I have three geothermal fissures with power plants on them in one city, and that city uses no power, the power is wasted and does not go to another city which has unsatisfied power needs?
