guess the exp civs

I think that the Turks, Bablyonians/Sumerians will definetly get a spot. Other civs I would like to see the last spot:

Khmer
Ethiopia
Mayans

yep, I'm gonna have to agree, although split babylonians and sumerians. Babylonians and Turks win all the polls, and the Sumerians were cut from the original game.

My guess the Ottomans, Korea, and Zulus.

Their Unique Units were probably gonna be the one they used in Civ 3.
I wonder what bonus Ottoman UUs, Sipahi have to give slight benefit against the AIs?
Impis were more likely to become a spearman with 2-square movement, similar to French Musketeer.
Korean H,wacha's were more likely to be created between a catapults and cannons.

How could Korean be Warlords, have they ever won a war? My choices are Turks/Maya/a non-Korea Asia civ

Don't forget the ancient astronauts that seeded the earth with human dna, thus making the missing link.;)

Ottomans/Turks are an absolute must. Babylon would be nice. Khmer would also be nice. Sadly, this means Africa gets the shaft yet again. :/

Civs I don't want to see in:
Korea. A civ that only made it in one of 3's expansions to peddle more copies into the S. Korean market. A complete backwater in history.
Austria-Hungary. This one makes no sense. The Dual Monarchy only existed for little more than half a century. Before that, they were just the Habsburg Empire of Austria. And Austrians are German. There could be a case for Hungary though I guess.
Carthage. Too late to change this I guess, but who cares? A minor trading empire that's only claim to fame was losing war after war after war to Rome on their way up.

Sumeria (not Babylon!)
Ottomans
Mayans?

I really hope the Israeli's make it though, that would be sweet. I voted for them.

Dude, Carthage was a major Meddeteranian Power. It was one of the wealthiest cities in the world, and made huge contributions to map making. It was they who send Hanno on an exploration, and he made his way around Africa all the way to Cameroon. They and the Phonecians were the greatest explorers of thier time. The Carthaginian Empire was hardly a minor trading empire. In addition, it produced very competent generals like Hamilcar and Hannibal Barca, the latter being one of the very best general of antiquity, and possibly history, the only reason he lost the 2nd Punic War was because he did not have the government backing him up. Had the greedy Merchant-Princes cared enough to send reniforcements and some seige machinary, it would be the Carthaginian Empire we'd be learning about in school, not the Roman.

Anyway, on topic, I would like to see the Assyrians (this is 'Warlords' and which kings are more war like than the Assyrian ones?), the Byzantines (they were the military super of Europe from the Empires begining, to the battle of Manizkert in 1084, and even then, they remained a major power until 1179 when Manuel died. I'd also like to see the Hittites.

And had the Nazis decisively defeated the Soviets at Stalingrad, we would all be speaking German now in the 70-somethingth year of the 1000 year Reich. What If's are fun, but not the best way to make your case.

That being said, I don't really disagree with you on what you are saying here. I just think Carthage is small when compared to the larger Phonenican civilization that it came from. I wouldn't mind seeing Phonencia in, with even a Carthagian leader.

Edit: i spell like a 3rd grader, heh

I concide on that point, but Carthage was the only Phonecian City too really develop into a manageble Empire. The Tyrian and Sidonian Empires were only powerful if they had access to the sea, Carthage was the most powerful Phonecian city.

And, I will say that the 'if' thing was not my main point. Nevertheless it doesn't really matter. I just think that Carthage's importance as a city should not be underplayed.

Not notable? They were pretty much the undisputed masters of SE Asia in the beginning of the second millenium.

I did some research after you made this statement. They did not rule a large area compared to civs like the Ottomans. They didn't explore or do daring raids like the Vikings. And they werrent a cradle of civiliaztion as Sumeria/Babylon was. Just having a civilization to balance a part of the world out is not good. With that logic, the Siberians or Eskimos should be a civ.

I say...

Byzantines / Ottomans (can't have the one without the other)
and

Either Ethiopians - gotta have them as they are one of the most unique civs there are...
Koreans ... magnificent hermits

or Thai as in Ayutthaya as in Siam, one of the major powers in indonesia.

But then again, who am I to know, or notice such things...

yo, people i definatly think the...

BYZANTINES. ( eastern roman empire ) should be in they played a large part in history ya know and they are my favourite civ for CIV 3:)

Carthage. they were the 'roman empire' of the mediterranian until the rise of rome and hannibal could eaily have changed the course of history in the second punic war.:goodjob:

Ottaman Empire. they controlled arabia turkey balkans mesapotamia and lasted for a thousand years only collapsing in ww1. they had a massive impact on world history they controlled all of asia minor.

Lakota. they challenged the usa for controll of the great plains and were extreamly clever and brave people who had been involved with world history from 1500 till 1900 they were a advanced culture with a grand philosphy

Australia. they wre a covict colony which evolved into a grand civ and built a vast empire (on the aussie continent) they were involved in both WW;)

Civ's like ethiopia ans stuff like that didn't even build an empire they were a nation the zulu can be excluded but things like eskimo empire c'mon

so..

Byzantines Ottamans Lakota Australia Poss Zulu 'n' Canada :king:

oh yeah

babylon is basically the persia of vannila civ 4 whats the point of adding them

khymer is just a small empire in SE asia nothing big

korea ?? please they don't even have an empire they are on a peninsula in asia end of story.

why add civ's which have no meaning at all
SOZ IF YA HAVE RELATIONS WITH THESE COUNTRIES AND STUFF !!!
