Stonehenge was Medieval?

What list is the medieval one based upon? That'd interest me...

On another note, this should be solved within the hour:

The Great Wall and Colosseum were not medieval either.

Wikipedia said:
Many of the structures on these lists were built much earlier than the Medieval Ages, but were well known

The following list is inaccurate, please complete it.

Blue:

Quebec (Canada)
Sao Paolo (Brazil)
Stockholm (Sweden)
Helsinki (Finland)
Genoa (Italy)
Venice (Italy)
Split (Crotia)
Cape Town (South Africa)
Singapore (Singapore)
Sydney (Australia)

Red:

Dublin (Ireland)
Glasgow (United Kingdom)
Budapest (Hungary)
Belgrade (Serbia)
Sidon (Lebanon)
Tyre (Lebanon)
Almaty (Kazakhistan)
Hanoi (Vietnam)

Green:

Brussels (Belgium)
Genova (Switzerland)
Marseilles (France)
Florence (Italy)
Krakow (Poland)
Vienna (Austria)
Bucharest (Romania)
Kathmandu (Nepal)
Lhasa (China)

The blue square is on Montreal not Quebec City.

edit:

Sydney is the oldest city / first colony in Australia. Quebec City is the same for French North America. Cape Town was the first European settlement in South Africa. San Paulo was the first settlement in Brazil as well. Guessing that's to do with dates of founding.

edit 2: city states and types in Civ 5. Blue are maratime, red military and green cultural.

This list looks an awful lot like the city states in Civ 5. Red is militaristic, Blue is maritime and green is cultured. Sydney throws me off though.

Beat by 2 minutes :)

And just to clear something up, I think Montreal's dot is too far east and north - It really does look like Quebec City.

It is Quebec City, but the issue is that Quebec City is right on the St Laurence seaway. Or just a bit to the east of where the dot is. The dot is between the two, perhaps on Trois-Rivières rather than either. That's being pedantic, but not being on the seaway threw me off.

I would never have got that one. :p

Yeah, I think some over estimate how popular Civ 5 has been, even more so here

Wow, way to fulfill my expectation on the minute, contre ;-)

@imperialman Sydney replaced Oslo when the Danish were introduced (as Quebec replaced Copenhague)

@WWTVVICTOR Sorry, I didn't actually put too much effort into this one and have never been in Scotland, I just placed it somewhere ;-) And the two red dots in the Middle East are Sidon and Tyre, not Beirut and Damascus.

@Peter_Grimes It is Quebec City!

@classical_hero Don't play Civ 5? It's not that bad (it's not the reinvention of Christ as well), but the Concept of City States is something of the better things. It is actually quite a cool idea.

@contre So I placed Quebec City wrongly as well? Sorry, I really didn't put too much effort into it but wanted the thread to keep moving ;-)

So, what are you saying? That civ5 is more popular than it is assumed or the other way around? (I probably had too much wine to tell by myself) Because I wasn't assuming that it was popular, I just thought it'd be a easy way and a good way to remind people of one good thing that Civ5 has brought with itself to the series. Plus, I wanted to look at how the distribution on the world map is and voila, it shows:

What the map shows however is how euro-centric Firaxis even is with city states...

The edit where I got it was 5 minutes after posting :(

I have to run a few errands and then it usually takes me an hour or two to make a map, so I'll have one up within 6 I expect.

City States are silly. The military ones are useless except for a diplomatic victory. The cost of keeping them happy is more than buying units directly. Cultural are useful if you want to play culturally. Maritime are just ridiculously over powered.

@classical_hero well yes, that's a reason.

@contre Ok, let me rephrase that: the idea of city states/independents is a good one even if the implementation has been lacking. (and btw. play Thals Vanilla Enhancement Mod which fixes these things as well as many others - I don't play often, but I haven't played the unmodded game for nearly half a year now, which totally throws me off when I try one of the Firaxis made scenarios)

Home. Let me find something and then spend 2 hours verifying which pacific island is which only to be guessed in 5 minutes.
