Millionaires?

The Zulus were in the first incarnation of Civilization. But we do need a map or someone else make one.

He was talking about the wikipedia map you linked to. On that map, the Zulu Kingdom is the red dot, the lime green area is the "unclaimed jungle" at the time of the map, that does not belong to any of the western imperialistic nations. The Zulu would be much more famous if they held that area as a kingdom...

Regarding the map, it does seem to be somehow correlated with population, with a few exceptions though. Otherwise, I have no idea.

Millionaires?
It does look like that, but no.

Not completely population, but that is a factor.

Here's the map again on this page:

Hmm, I don't really have a better idea yet, but see what are the anomalies.

High population, but light(er) colour:
India, Brazil, Argentinia, Indonesia, Japan, (Iraq)

Low population, but dark(er) colour:
Saudi-Arabia, (Iran), (Malaysia)

So, what does Saudi-Arabia have relatively more than India? Millionaires? Princes? Exports? Military Size?

Good job picking up on Saudi Arabia. That is important. I'm afraid of giving too much away too quickly but there is more Saudi Arabia has besides millionaires, princes, and oil. And it's not desert either.

women without rights?

Foreign workers?

Military related? I know they have a big military. Or theology students?

Pilgrims was my first thought as well when I read jtb1127's comment, but for that Saudi Arabia seems a bit too light...

btw. why are there no data for Estonia?

@dwaxe France and Germany are known for no Women's Right ;)
@contre Qatar and Bahrain and the other Gulf Countries would have to be even darker as they have 51%+ non-nationals whereas with Saudi-Arabia, that's only about 20 % or so...

Hmm, I had hoped it had something to do with Estonia being atheistic, even more so than the Czech Republic which is coloured...

It's Foreign and it's pilgrims, so is it "number of visitors to x from country y"? Religion is a bit tricky since it seems to cover the whole world and all its religions. It's likely not Islam since the two most populous muslim countries (Indonesia and India) are not as dark as the others.

Is it something like percentage of tourists with religious motivations (instead of holidays or business travels)? Again, I'd expect Saudis to travel not for Relgious reasons mostly. Hmm, Another flash idea, is ist number of holidays done at home, like not leaving the home country? That'd explain why the big countries are dark: The US is so diverse you can make beach, mountain, city holidays all within the borders. The same's true for France, but Switzerland f.e. has more outsiders coming into the country.

If it's not something of the above, I give up ;)
